Just moved to the area, heard some ski's out on the water today. Didn't know if it was anyone on the forums. Who else rides Bella Vista, Silver or Grand Rapids area?

Just ride the gravel pits in Robinson township and port Sheldon. Then after Labor Day, ride Grand Haven when you can launch from the beach with a cart and beach your ski. Don't bother with those Inland lakes in Rockford unless you live super close.

I will definitely be going to port Sheldon when the surf kicks up. I'm fortunate enough to have access to Bella Vista and Silver since they are close to the house and have family.

Then you're good to go then. If you haven't met people that ride there yet, there is a bunch. Nothing better than riding in west Michigan

I went to wave rave last year and had a blast but didn't get to chat with too many people. I def heard some sort of freestyle ski on Bella Vista yesterday so I will have to see who it is. Looking forward to riding at Port Sheldon and meeting more of the W Michigan riders!

I was out there all weekend. That's my main riding spot. You will find it to be a killer riding community.

Awesome. I live on the north side down towards the dam end. I don't live directly on the lake but I've bee tempted to walk just down the street to the "community beach" area to launch with my beach cart

I live in the grand rapids area as well. Main spot is the gravel pits. Thinking about making my way to port sheldon one of these sundays. Not really a freerider but I'm looking forward to hitting some waves.

Is that the main attraction - the surf? Or is it a great place in multiple ways?

It's Lake Michigan man! Surf, yacht wakes, etc. I used to ride up along the coast to the Grand Haven lighthouse and then down to the Holland Lighthouse. Theres an area where you can beach your ski and chill out. You can play around at Pigeon lake where you launch or head up the river and see how far you make it. Free launch, rarely any Water cops. I could go on and on

I ride some cool spots out here in California but Port Sheldon is the best spot I've been too hands down.

Surf is small right now but come fall should get bigger swells. I will echo the remarks about port sheldon being such a cool spot. I enjoy the clear blue water and not dealing with salt. The scenery is hard to beat.

Best riding surf wise was September to October. I did November one year but was wayyy too cold .

Spent an hour washing, flushing and spraying down my ski. Over it!
