9-10 foot lake waves ??? Is this hurricane conditions. Please please please post some pics or vids from that trip.

9-10' really isn't all that big for the great lakes. Here are a couple shots of Grand Haven's pier head (lake michigan) during an 18-21' forecast day from last September. Note the size of that man door for a sense of scale and realize that when the lake is flat the bottom of that door is about 12' above the water level. Also note how short of a period these come in at. Given the right conditions you can actually transition the waves if you get enough air. Needless to say these are quite different than your typical ocean break.

Super chop big air madness. Bucket full of nuts. That looks like storm surf at Mavericks. Helmets and balls. Thanks for the pics I have a new respect for you East coast guys.

last forcast i saw was 12ft in cleveland this mornin. its gonna be some tricky ridin i think. biggest ive been on was 6-9ft and they were spaced out as far as they were tall. what a mess, but it will make you a better rider just make sure your bilge pumps work good. i can post pics and maybe some video.

hit it guys... just came back from checking all of the good ride spots here... so far sturgeon point is off the hoo... 8' - 10' semi clean with decent intervals... right outside the marina... looks like everyone on Lake Erie can get in on this action.

Except the west coast of the lake.... It was off the :):):):)in chain in Cleveland today. 7-9 footers. Getting to the beach was a bloody war zone. At the beach, they were spreading out to about 25 yards apart....The helmet cam footage sucks. I refuse to even post it. GoPro Wides just don't show waves. It looks like one footers. I'm gonna wait for Franks footage.

I should've filmed from the beach today. Here are some 4 footers from last year.

Nice vid dude. Can I offer a small tip I've learned? When you guys do re-entrys, as you leave the wave you need to shift your weight/learn forward. Every one in that vid was leaving the wave with there weight back. (In your mind) Its seems like if you lean forward you'll stuff the nose however you can actually go bigger, farther and smoother. Try riding with a front foothold to get your weight forward.

FWIW those waves have no power to re enter the ski in to the lip. We need 7 to 8 footers to have any power IMO. The 3-6's are just weak.....I think its because its fresh water. You can jump em no doubt but they don't have any lip power until they get BIG......does that make sense?
