The Old Skool Professor
Next weekend there is a PWC race at Coconuts on the Gravois arm of the Lake of the Ozarks.

The course is going to be a side by side serpentine type slalom course with a drag race back to the start line after rounding the last bouy.

The classes will be 500-800 CC, 801-1200 CC, 1201 Unlimited, Modified, and Stand Up. There will be a $500 pay out for each class.

The entry fee is $65 and the race will raise money for the Wounded Warrior Project.

The promoters of this event are intrested in expanding it and having a closed course racing next year. To make that happen they need a good turnout this year. So please show your support for the future of PWC racing!!! Come out to Coconuts next weekend and race!!!

Please note the course will be an offset type slalom course but the course drawings on these sites only show it as a really crude straight line.

Does anybody know how this turned out? Were there many stand up racers? Was it well organized?

If this truly is an annual event, I will be there next year. Hopefully they will have closed course bouy races...

I talked to a local guy who raced in every category, in his opinion it was kinda a cluster-F#$K. He said that it was very disorganized, and hard to tell where the track ended and boats began. He said at one point an idiot with his 500 express was trying to park and pulled into the racing course. Oh this looks like a good open spot for me, man they even put out nice buoys to keep people away from my boat.....people have no common sense.

the people that put this on had never done anything like this before. i found out about the race only a week before and in that short time did what i could to help them. there were a lot of people there and it was fun but yes a lot of problems.

i am working with them now and the current plan is to have an IJSBA event there next year. when i know more i will post again.
