Other Landing and not falling while jumping?

Footholds are a must for doing any tricks. As far as just jumping in a straight line.. Stand both feet in the back of the tray spread as far apart as possible and land on your ride plate is key. Land rear first and it will be a soft landing u might sink half the ski under water and be waist deep under water..and flat on the bottom of the hull and u slap water hard and are still moving fast... Good way to eat :):):):) if you're new and always makes for a hard as hell landing lol

All preference. I think jumping straight leg is pretty lame. Looks lame and the nose of the ski goes twice as high as you THINK you did. You also cant see your landing, just a nose and pole. I jump flat. We ride river, and I dont want the rear of my ski potentially smacking the bottom of the riverbed. Same I imagine should go for surf, though Ive never ridden.

When you land ass first, you have about a full second of the ski sinking before the pump grabs and you can actually throttle out. This is not the case landing flat. As was said before if you time it right, and gas it right, as soon as you touch the water with your ski it will hook up and take off. You can land sideways flat, you just have to know how to handle a ski.

Again its all preference, but damn, all those straight leggers, they SWEAR they get huge air everytime. Muahahahahah

Landing flat sideways lol not good at all for big air.. Landing soft is landing rear first or nose first going into a dive to break the landing like u do in a 180 nose stab. I ride in big river rapids... I don't hit bottom nor do u hit in surf if you're hittin the back set of waves. Hitting smaller waves closer to shore its possible to hit bottom but doesn't hurt anything

Sparkplug if I am not hitting anything with the tail of my x2 then you will definitely not hit anything with the tail of your SN. We are not getting that much air on the river after your first trip to Sacramento to hit yacht wakes or to the coast you will not be trying to land flat any more trust me.
And you will be adding a pole limiting rope ;-)

Lol he flat lands cuz gets like 3 feet of air that time... In the "rapids" must be 6 inch waves... Cabin cruiser waves are where it's at hell ya yachts! Or just hit the surf :)

I am talking about the ski landing flat to the water.. it's almost impossible to land with your leggs straight ouch ! Maybie they would look straight in the air but as soon as the ski his the water they are bending ! You need to add a pole limiting rope plug then we need to make a trip to sac or some chit I want to see you start trying those 180 nose stabs off a good wake ;-)

I forgot!
When I jump straight legged wearing my wetsuit with no board shorts I have time to adjust my hair, check for BO, brap the throttle and fist pump before landing. I find 50:1 amsoil works the best for this pv freestyle move. Sometimes, I wear board shorts over my wetsuit while running crapsilver. I bend my leggs and stick my butt out during the hang time to lower myself closer to the ski. This gives added effect of more height. Registering my ski has helped keep my ski mine.

Seems like some assumptions are being made. Do you have foot holds or a foot strap on your ski? Those will make a huge difference, can't pull the back up if you have nothing to pull with.

Try leaning forward on your jumps, it will help balance you out. I've been having the same problems you're having but I get to talk to the local experts on how bad my form is lol.

The stock length pole isn't helping, especially if you're heavier. There are some threads on shortening a SN pole, but I haven't seen them. But the long pole is forcing you to have more weight on the back of the ski. The other option is a RN pole and conversion bracket. RN poles are easier to shorten IMO... Or you might find a AM SN pole.

Also, your pretty new to this. I wouldn't sweat it too much, just practice practice.

No holds yet. i kinda spread my feet out and hold the tray a little. Maybe get some straps soon, or wait till winter and do holds. I have been looking into an am pole and steering. thanks

Holds are way nice but u can squeeze hard against the sides of the tray and get some grip that way. Here's how u do anything, backflips, rolls and not crash... Be at one with your ski ;) motocross riders should know this I'm an ex pro mx rider
