Last Ditch Effort

just a thought, kinda been thinking about this all winter, with all this new found heat from the port and polish, since im running none girtled, is it possible im loosing compression after awhile due to a warping effect to the cylinders/head heating up and cooling, and not having the head bolted to bottom of case?

Nope. The girdle kit is to help keep the cylinders from cracking. As long as you have everything torqued to spec, and check torque again after a few rides you will be fine. The cylinders should run around 120-140ish degrees. not too cold, not too hot.

interesting, do they sell heat sensor set-ups for skis, almost like engine temp for cars? think that would be pretty cool to have a heat temp gauge on the handlebars and give me a little assurance that nothing is falling apart while im riding the thing.

No. Just put an adhesive temp strip on the head. As long as the water coming out of your pissers isn't too hot nothing is falling apart.

Did some further investigation. Seized the crank. Top end is screwed. Everything basically done. Dont know what happened all i know is that it looks really bad. Question, Buy a used engine from someone or try to fix it all.

This was my ski 7 years ago and I just bought it back from Ryan a month and half ago. The whole top end was missing and the B pipe also. Took apart the carb for cleaning etc. for another project and found this, a completely plugged basket filter. Looks like some weird black thin plastic stuff mixed with animal hair and another fiber that reminds me of cigarette filter material. Also the old OEM carb lines were pretty damn hard, so that black shizz is prolly hose inards..
