Last year for Yamaha Superjet?!

Mom just took away my keyboard. She said this thread is making me more stupider. Hope either my atari or my flip phone can connect to that big phone cord for my 2400bps dial up. Would hate to miss a second of this.

i don't care what anyone says. Superjets rock. all of em. some of my best memories and times have been on my superjet.
some of my best memories were doing 300 rolls a weekend off huge boat wakes with an SJ but it wasn't the SJ that made it best. it was the huge boats throwing. I would have had a lot more fun on an AM hull where I could have done flips, spins and rolls. it was good times but a better boat would have been a better times and as soon as I ditched my SJ for a rickter hull, surf was a lot more fun too

Well in my opinion its sad if the superjet disappeared, its the mother of all AM builds.
Ricker hulls started with a SJ they made their first plug of, same goes for XS. secondly, It also makes for a good donor ski.
Last but not least, there is alot of people that dont want a AM ski, but just a nice bonestock superjet :)

Where is the corresponding announcement for the all-new 4 stroke superjet!?? TR1 motor in a slightly bigger hull.

I can honestly say that my friend is the sales and service manager at a Yamaha dealer and 2 months ago his rep said it is finished approve and coming and has been testing for a couple years now and we were both really excited. Two weeks ago the same rep came in and he asked if there was any more info in it and the rep said that Yamaha has officially killed the project. They saw the poor sales numbers of the new Kawasaki and now don't think the market is there. It was going to basically be the same superjet we have today with just a normally aspirated 4-stroke engine not the monster the Kawasaki is so I am not sure how they even think it would be in the same market. I hope he is wrong. The Wave Runner dealer meeting is in San Diego August 13-17 and he is going to ask more questions about the superjet. Maybe they will surprise all of us, who knows but I will let you know what he finds out.

Cool. I'm in San Diego. I assume the meeting will be at Mission Bay. Kommander has been running TR1 in small Superjet-like AM hulls for a few years (perhaps they are the testing for Yamaha) The Kawi SXR 1500 is overkill in my opinion. Overkill in hull size, engine size and cost.

I'm buying one this year. If they release a new one next year I will likely jump on one right away. I'm ready, there just don't seem to be any real deals on leftover 2017's or 18's that the dealers have.

I'm thinking a 4 stroke freeride ski is not a good idea, but I eat fruity pebbles, live under a trailer, and pretend to ride 2 strokes.

Anyone want this rainbow colored milk?

what baffles me is why are guys wanting to buy brand new superjets
Why wouldn't someone want a brand new one?

I recently bought one that was brand new, never on the water, and I have zero regrets. It's Yamaha-bred perfection and I love it every time I ride it.

If I had the space to store it I would also buy a new 2018 to keep on hand.

"piss your money away on whatever your heart desires. that's what I do"
But then I saw your words of wisdom, so let us buy them in peace

I work for Yamaha, 2020 is going to be a great year for Superjet! Stay tuned!
Tell us more, you're holding out! Your story slightly conflicts with comments a few further down...

if I rode a ski like baby carriage , I might be content on a stock new SJ, but i'm a gorilla thrasher and the SJ hull just isn't fun and doesn't do what I need to do to have fun. I realize not everybody does or wants to ride like I do, which is why the SJ is good for some and disappointing for me and others. I wish I was content to ride like a jellyfish and have fun. i'm beat up after riding like I do. I would like to buy brand new skis but they just aren't worth that much money to me. i'd rather buy used for a smokin deal and fix whatever breaks. its not like I don't have parts. and whoever said the SJ is a good donor ski is crazy to tear a running SJ apart just to change hulls. what a waste!

My money is on the new super jet being a GP1 with a different top deck. Motz and Kommander have done all the development and testing. Plus the current super jet hulls are contracted out so it’s more in line with what Yamaha is already doing. It won’t be a free ride ski for sure. It needs to compete somewhat with the new SXR. I’m down for one if it’s like a GP1 and close to the price of the SXR. 30k for a GP1 is ridiculous.
