I wanted a little bragging time for my latest SJ find :bananalama:
Well, I am just about to get married and we are under contract on a house we are building. My future wife decided now is a good time to sell my backup backups SN SJ I just finished building. I really didnt want to sell the ski, but I wasent getting much use out of it. I decided to take it to the lake and slap a $2600 price tag on it (and secretly hoped it wouldn't sell). The very first person who looked at it gave me full asking price for the ski the next day. I was a little bummed on selling the ski, and hated to see it go. But, I didnt have alot of money in it, but tons of sweat equity.
The very same day I found two SJ's on craigslist. One was a 97 SJ with b-pipe, head, prop and intake. The other was an 03 SJ with a SeaDoo couch. Both people wanted $3k for their setup.
I went and looked at the 03 the night I sold my SN. Seemed like a really good deal, but the whole point in selling my SN was to have some extra cash. After I looked at the ski I had to take it home. The guy was the original owner of both skis and had all titles (rare in CO - non title state) and original invoices from the dealer in CO he purchased the skis from. The Yamaha dealer actually quoted, priced, and sold an electric bilge installed in the SJ lol. The SeaDoo had all original paperwork, manual and dealer invoice from 97. The guy said he never took the skis out much and they havent been ran in years. I got them for $2600 and took it home and got them started the next day. Both skis are super clean low hour. The bottom of the ski has little to no scratches.
Here are some pictures.... the OEM SJ turf is still in good shape.
