Freestyle Latest opinions on FW batteries?

They are supposed to be stored between -20 and 20 degrees Celsius according to the manufacturer. I also read some physics papers online on how lower temperatures protect the cells. I cant find the papers now but that was my reasoning for the freezer.
Mine is stored in a hot garage because it's mounted at the bulkhead at the bottom of hull making it impractical to remove each ride : ( I should build a box and mount it higher.

Any other thoughts on FW batteries ?

ive had brand new AG that i sealed with 3M scotch kote around terminals, that crapped out after 3 rides.
Now im using a "cheap" brand Lifepo4 battery for a auto store, that provides 3 years warrenty.
My best advice, get the ones you can get the best deal on (incl warrenty)
80% of the batteires are using the same china cells.

I've acutallu collected soem ol laptop and batteries for power tools to harvest the cells and build some batteris myself. Just need to figure out the best casing for them :)

What exactly are people doing to seal these batteries? The seam between top and bottom is fairly obvious, but there is mention of sealing the terminals, do you just cover the whole terminal with silicon or something?

You just put silicone around the outside edges or circle of the terminal that goes into the battery.

Well i did use 3M scotch kote for my AG battery. But now i dont do anything to my lifepo4 battery, becasue if it breaks and i need to claim warrenty, it need to be original.

I was wondering about that since I am in a similar boat. Do you think tape and maybe mild silicone could be enough to protect it as well as make it removable for warranty?

Well i did my best to seal the new AG battery, around terminals and the seam. It still crapped out. Dosent mean water intrusion though.

I would just keep it as is - if there is decent warranty on them.

This is a regular AGM battery.
Yes and 8.45 lbs probably good for surf ski and casual rec rider.
I managed to fit an Autocraft LFP-7 lithium 380 cca in my KDX and it did fine yesterday at Blues. The lake was super smooth and wake very steep directly behind boat, the crew is beaten up today sore.

I don't have a full year under my belt yet with this battery. So far though it starts my ski every time and weighs less than my cell phone.

I would make a flat waterproof box for lipos and mount it externally behind the hood. They are cheap and durable, just prone to bursting into flames. It would be easy to install as much capacity as needed and use a separate pack for ignition.

How's this mighty max been holding up ? Or has almost 2 yrs use past it's lifespan...
Garbage.
Don't buy.
After 2 warranty replacements I accidentally let it slip that I was using it for a jet ski. (Never tell the manufacturer that you have their lithium battery in a jet ski. Chances are the warranty excludes jet skis.) I decided to bite the bullet and just buy a proven battery. Antigravity...5 months in, so far no problems. Running et967, 760 charging wheel with zeeltronic.
