C'mon X-h20! Like Performance1 said, take the hood off on your stand and turn the motor on. Turn the bars left and right. See if the throttle cable is pulling when you turn left.

kevin why would that cause a bog? if anything it would rev up.

I was thinking it could be just a CH too lean with my setup.
My throttle cable does pull just a little bit when I turn to the left but that would cause it to rev up not bog down. Mine doesn't do it on a normal left turn with the nose up, only on nose down turns to the left ie.. power 360s. I thought it was a fuel pick up problem but I have switched tanks and pick ups, same problem

Will make changes one by one

I ll be trying the exhaust nozzle issue out ASAP

trying a set of fairly new 46s of a perfect running ski this will help narrow it down carbs or not carbs once there off i ll check my pop off.

Is the pipe to hot? My sj had a plugged stinger nozzle so then it made the water box get hot as fuuu. So if I did a sub or stab, water in the hull would hit the hot water box flashing to steam then get sucked into the motor, making it bog. I would tip it on its side while running on land and see if it changes. trying to get it to bog out of water. Just to eliminate possibilities.

Good point guys, I was just thinking about all the issues with the longer pole for the Rickters. Thought maybe cable could be pulled most of the time except turning left. Just trying to rule out everything.

Going rich when you turn left can possibly be caused by these two things;

#1 (and usually) The high speed jetting is slightly too rich, and the "G force" pushes more fuel into the cylinder and pulls down the Rpm & throttle response. When you turn right; the fuel rushes away from the main jet.

#2 This doesnt happen often, but the small plastic "flapper valve" (under the jet cover & held on with a phillips screw) is weak, and this allows fuel to pash past into the main jet circuit.

#3 If you want to make things even better; Call Tim at Novi and order some "high entry" jet blocks. But this might require some re-jetting.

I'm not saying this is your problem as I'm not there, but I have seen this symptom occur quite often. Try turning in the hi-speed screw a 1/4 turn and see if the throttle response is better, that will help you determine if it's a fuel problem.

wow lots of good info in this thread, I have this issue on my blaster, except when I fall to the right it bogs until it is tipped back upright. It makes sideboarding to the right almost impossible.

call/pm brian at thrust......He fixed this same issue on a XFR/powerfactor for a local rider beginning of this summer..

I'm shortly going to be building an XFS with PFP (but with water box) - would be interested to know the issue/solution?

Wonders what 60mm PVC tube does when you stick in the rear of the exhaust by 2 inches.

Thanks to Brian from THRUST.....

We might have an answer why mine and Adams ski are doing it will report back.

Fixed in the mean time just need to find why getting closer.

Thanks Mik, so you just tap a 2" length Of 60mm bore pipe up the exhaust leaving nothing protruding out the back of the ski ?

Cheers

Jim

Right, well that confirms what it is to me - it's backwash out if the rear of the nozzle - it blows past the right hand side of the nozzle when it's turned over to the left. It's normally never an issue because the nozzle is recessed into the pump area - on XFS and BOB its out the back allowing the water to blow back up the exhaust.

Watch the video at 3:01 and you'll see the blow back on action as he turns left, it fires up and right

Blowsion make and exhaust tip for a Kawa 800 that will work as well.

Hopefully report back by then end of the week with more info as why. Just need to test a few different ride plates.
