August 2009 at Long Point State Park near Ithaca, NY. The one of my son on the beach doesn't look like much, but Chris, age 7, decided he wanted to take the Octane for a ride, climbed on, and off he went! Doing about 40mph for 100 yards, less than 10' off the beach! Never ridden a standup before, either.

This pic was taken after I ran down the beach chasing him, yelling for him to stop. Like he could hear me over the motor....

Guess that'll teach me to pull the lanyard when I'm not riding......

That jump your doing there is that flat water?
What ride plate do you have?
I'm asking because I can not get mine to jump on flat water very well.

Yeah, that was pretty much flat water, maybe a light chop. I was standing on the ski, holding throttle at idle, with the back end of the ski about 18" underwater, riding nose high, and just gassed it a touch. Jumps right out of the water. Stock rideplate, grate, impeller.

Does yours bog and therefore not launch you? If so, it may be your carbs. Mine were horrible, jetting way off. The ski almost wouldn't run until I got over 1/2 throttle, and a bear to start. I sent 'em to Randy at Watcon to rebuild, rejet, remove choke, and put an idle and primer on. It was actually cheaper to send them to Randy then to buy the kits and rebuild myself!

If your ski is revving up just fine but not popping you out of the water, maybe your impeller is worn out? Check for dings and clearance around outside edge.

Idk what to compare it to it runs pretty nice hits around 50 or alittle more and if i tromp on it it takes of just it seems like it likes to stay hooked to the water. but you can here the pistens hitting if that what you mean by bogging?
and just about how much did it cost you? and how long did it take?

Dude sweet pictures man

Here is my Octane build

Picked up a '03 Octane over the winter and I am currently rebuilding the motor. I bought it with a bad crank and crankcase. Hull is in excellent shape, motor will be as good as new in a couple days.

since you have the tubbies done, I'd rec'd contacting wolf child for a mod list on his star boat

it has a -6 pole, 48's and some other stuff and has to be one of the fastest and best handling ski's ive ever ridden

why thank you!

coming from you that's quite the compliment. :fing02:

Oh, cool... Yep, that's it. Still waiting to get my -4 x-metal for the white one, and then the red one will get the -2 x-metal hand-me-down from the white one.

Need to get some new pics too, I have different graphics on the white one now.

Full throttle 92 what octane (gas) are you running? If its pinging its detonating which means the pistons are hitting the head because there isnt enough octane in the fuel you are using. Use something over 90 if its availible
