SuperJETT's video/aka 24/7's video makes it look sooooooooo easy! Of course Harrison can probaly do nose stabs during intercourse. I WILL SUCCEED!!! After the stabs come the rolls-after rolls come the backys! After the backys-well-I don't know right now.

The light is on and I think someone is finally home-here we go
I am thinking I need the entire ski about 5' out of water to stab???

That stuff aint workin worth a dam

Now-onto a good old fashioned submarine-when I try and can do some good subs-just don't try very often-old news-old school
My approach to a glass water sub is moderate speed-hop once-landing 1st hop-push down/preload ski-hop again and drill it into the lake.

Does any of this have anything to do w/nose stab? I'm now thinkin that on the 2nd hop-crank the bars real hard on take off????
I'm spending waaaaaaaay too much time thinkin bout this-maybe I need to get drunk and go to the lake w/nobody is there-the old-RELAX-and do it.

Gil, don't forget I stabbed your ski on flatwater - it's all in the technique. Don't get discouraged - it takes a while to learn. If you haven't nailed it by Lanier we'll have you stabbing like a pro before you leave.

Mark44 is a great coach and photographer! The sxr is indeed awkward, but the difficulty keeps me pumped somewhat. The ski seems to me to respond better when you unload it during rotation.....that may not make sense but is the best I can describe it.

I love this pic, this was off a small boat wake.....Talk to this guy at Lanier, he'll have you stabbin by the end of the day......Just FYI, He converted to a square nose over the winter, and might be selling the sxr. But dont let that discurage you. keep trying. My sugestion would be , if you still have it, loose the stock handle pole. Look how short his pole is in that pic.

Here's how you start doin em on a Kawi... You can do them w/o even getting the ski out of the water to get the feel of em...

Ride forward at about 1/3 throttle.. turn to the right, then turn to the left and gun the throttle to about 3/4 throttle ... Tuck your left elbow into your stomach and put your head way forward to the left side of your pole...

You will do a turning sub... This will help you get your nose down during the stabs and get the feel of em.. the nose of your ski HAS to hit the water first!

I can do stabs with no wake at all now, just hoppin. I learned em on a stock SXIPRO with no footholds... They were wayyyy easier on my SXR.

Keep at it...
ps... I can't stab a SJ for ****

I rode a SXR 800 today with the TBM pump stuffer & shorty cone. It made a big differance in the punch. Made the ski feel lighter and I was able to get it to pop up out of the water much easier than last year when I rode it. We were behind the General Jackson riverboat riding waves and the guy who owns it was getting alot more air than last year. I would think that this would make doing stabs alot easier. Anything to improve low end power & hookup can only help in getting that heavy hull out of the water. Get yur roll on, bring it to Lanier and show us how its done on a SXR.
