650sx flat deck 274 RTR Gil helped me pick it up at the last Smith Lake freeride and put it on the trailer, he knows how light it is,full size tank, full size battery, stock steel flywheel.

Well yes, the 300sx is light, but the title says "Lightest RTR freestyle ski"...Pretty sure no body will argue with me if I say the 300sx is in no way a "freestyle ski"....now slap a 701 and mag pump in there and we might have an argument (and an extra 30lbs).

I'm sure someone could get a 300sx to do a mean log roll... lol.

Wow. 220 I insain to me. My rickter weighed 117 lbs with turf, foam, pole bracket and hood hooks. Now it's about 300 lbs assembled. That means I added 180 lbs of drivetrain, gas tank, pump etc. I haven't seen lighter pump components or engine stuff really. I run a 7 lb battery and a kart tank. The Power Factor is about the same weight as a b pipe plus I have no water box. I guess my RRP pole is heavier than say a carbon pole, but I can't find any other practical ways to cut weight.

"RRP pole is heavier than say a carbon pole, but I can't find any other practical ways to cut weight."

RRP pole has got to be one of the heaviest pole/chinpad/brackets out there, almost any other setup is much lighter: stock, xmetal, etc.

Otherwise, lose the Rickter hull/hood/pole for flatwater and get a lightweighter weight option....

Just wondering what the weight is of the lightest, recorded RTR ski that you know of??
My 2010 BOB was about 240lbs, and I'm sure there's a few skis out there that are lighter then that...

The RL-Composite TriXstar is at 107kg/230lbs. Is with ADAhead ,RRP-pole and b-pipe ready to ride but longer than BOB

one thing to keep in mind.......I have seen a few "full carbon" hulls out there that are nothing more than a sheet of carbon over a glass hull

to get into the 220-230 range you must figure in that EVERY part must be carbon

waterbox (if used)
thru hull exhaust tube
pole
rideplate
and likely NO FOAM

my roomates superfreak hull has ALL carbon components to go along with it...figure that boat is 230/235ish

once you start adding glass parts to a carbon hull youve just thrown your advantage out the door.....

also, figuire billet parts are a little heavier than cast so if youre after weight 100% you might find yourself using a stock part here or there as well...unless you have access to titanium that is

My Super Freak the infamous "Thunder Pumpkin" RTR 235lbs

I doubt there is any hull out there that is as light and bullet proof strong as the Super Freak.....

Despite all the numbers out there, we're working on a few things, and I'm trying to get the lightest ski, but being too-light will make a ski handle differently because it'll be sitting so high out of the water. We'll see what we can come up with...

I agreed,
that where we have the best guy in the world that makes the best and lightest skis in the would that knows all about water dynamic, and lift point and breaking point of the hull and know how to make all working together, If any of you guys has any thoughts send BERKY Superferak a pm I'm sure he will give ya'll a tip

that could easily be done by replacing the foam with rubber inner tubes with valve stems. :dunno:

Dont get too exited about the helium idea as a party balloon lifts a whopping 1.4 grams! so you would not even lift the inner tubes! I think a visit to the toilet before riding may be a good idea! Lol

Why dosen't anyone build titanium parts? I could build an entire snowmobile out of titanium parts, but have not seen one Ti part for a ski?

Look here...
http://www.x-h2o.com/threads/80742-Titanium-Trim-Ring

X Scream ski's that competed at the World finals this year used titanium handle pole brackets as well as the trim rings to replace the standard X-Metal S.S. brackets.
