Lil trick - fuel tank strap holder

cut a small strip of 1/2" thick padding about 3/4" x 3" and mount it over the bolt on the strap holder that is attached to the hull.

The pad prevents the strap from falling off behind the gas tank before you can get the front loop connected.

I've had it happen a lot as well. As you're sliding the tank back in the place, the strap pops off the hook in the back requiring you to remove the tank again to fix it. I fixed this problem by just taking a screwdriver and bending the little tabs outward so the strap can't slide off.

I am confused, got a pic of what you are talking about?

Sorry for the quality - cell phone pic in garage, but you get the idea. The loop stays on when it is supposed to, pushes off easily when you want it to. The pad just holds it above the slot so it doesn't drop out.
