Super Jet Limited or mod pipe

Hey guys I have a superjet and it has a factory pipe, I don't know how to tell if it is limited or mod. It has 180 compression, stage 3 porting, and an after market impeller and water box. Would I be better of with a mod pipe of I had a limited, or does it not make a huge difference? It is a 61x also.

Mod pipe is ~2 inches shorter and generally better for larger engines (higher displacement).

The good part about the mod chamber is its easier to get in and out of your ski.

A quick and easy way to tell if it's installed on your ski is assuming it's in a stock superjet with a stock tank, you will know by how close the pipe is to the tank.

If its on the verge of touching and a layer of turf or two between them would make them touch, it's prob a limited.

If you have more room that that... Its prob a mod chamber.

Personally, I don't think there is a huge difference between the two and if you had a mod chamber on a smaller engine, it's not going to kill you. It's FAR better than stock!

Its a limited setup, don't have it in the ski but it was a pain to get out and was very close to the tank. I'm assuming you only use the mod chambers on larger engines then? From what I read on factory's Web site they made it sound like it was used for any ported engine.

ive ridden several superjets all with b pipes both mod and limited chambers... the mod chamber hit much harder on the 701 and had more top end.. the engine seemed to rev quicker with the mod pipe than limited.. i honestly think the limited chamber would be better on a bigger engine because the chamber is bigger instead of the mod chamber...

gc4

I'd be lost without the x

I have had a limited in my stock 701 for a couple seasons now and I have never been able to get a great hard hit from it. Not like I was expecting, anyway.

There could be other issues and it really depends on your expectations. A pipe can only do so much, there are a lot of other factory to consider.

Have you checked the water screws?

Never checked the screws and I have done some more research and it its a mod pipe,I moved up from a js300 so it is a big step, it had a high comp head and aftermarket water box as well as porting, it is a 61x. I don't want to go the dual carb route.

Now that I reread I think you are talking to gc4, my bad.

On another note I see that some guys glue turf to the inside of the hul where the pipe is, is this worth it or is it just more bs I don't need to screw around with? Sorry for all the newb questions, I just want to learn.
