Super Jet Limited or Mod? Which Factory B-Pipe do you guys recommend for me?

I have a 2000 RN 701.

Looking for some advice on if I should order the Limited or Mod pipe from Factory Pipe. Right now my engine is stock, but I'm afraid I have been infected with the stand up disease. I absolutely love this thing, and I want to make it better. I want to maintain reliability, but I'd like to put a pipe on it and the most important parts that help make the most of the 701 and the pipe. I wouldn't be against putting an ADA head on it as long as it doesn't require me to tune more than ride. So... today I called Factory Pipe and asked them this same question. Their answer was if I was going to put a head on it, I needed the Mod pipe. Do you guys agree? And can I do this without sacrificing reliability once I get it dialed in?

To update you on my ski, last night I removed the Shredmaster ride plate/intake grate, and installed a worx201 and d-cut my stock ride plate. The previous owner put a aftermarket prop on it, but I don't know which one, and it seemed to keep up with my buddy's with the skat trak on it, so I left it alone. I bought a Rule800 bilge with the OCD wiring kit, hood seal, and hood strap so I don't sink this thing. Other than those things the ski is basically stock.

Any advice helps, I've spent hours reading posts and I can't seem to find the line where one needs to get the Mod over the Limited.

Thanks in advance

For a stock 701 I'm pretty sure a limited would be the way to go. I think the mod is made for ported and bigger set ups, shortening the chamber to help with bottom end. A pipe shouldn't mess with reliability if it's jetted properly https://www.wamiltons.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=248

I was thinking the Mod pipe was more for heavily modified engines as well. I don't plan on getting real far into that, just maybe ADA head, bump the compression if possible, and a pipe.

You don't think you will get into heavily modding your ski? Good luck my friend. I say octane chamber, best of both worlds. good bottom good top.

Get the limited, Ive tried both you want the limited... its that simple, When I ran my XM771 they told me limited, I believe both my buddies are running limited chambers and there motors are in the 900 category, So ya just get the limited

Yup...go after a limited. It'll last your through quite a few mods as stated by the last poster.

As usual Factory Pipes advice is spot on (all sarcasm implied)!

Good luck keeping it stock. I rode my SJ exactly twice before sending it off to be ported and having the pump worked!

Thanks for the luck in my hopes to keep it stock, but it's not working! Looking through jetmaniac's list of parts is starting to cost me a lot of money. I'm curious what you had done to your pump? I was looking at the Solas stainless steel 12 vane MAG pump, but it weighs 3 or 4 times more than the aluminum ones... Did the pump work you did help on performance?

when you get to that point, get the solas mag...definitely worth it. It just works more efficiently, stays hooked up longer and grabs faster when landing. To be honest, you probably won't appreciate that difference with a stock ski, but it was very noticeable on my ported 735. I matched the right Skat C+75 impeller to that pump (took me a few tries) and my ski rips like never before. Don't worry about the weight difference...it adds like 4 lbs I think. If that worries you, get a composite ride plate.

But...FIRST, get the limited pipe and the ADA girdled head. You'll have to tune it once, but won't have to fiddle with it continuously. No worries there.

I have the Solas Mag pump with just a limited b pipe and it works very well. I wont ride 6 vane again!

Oh, and dont worry about the weight, you will feel no difference at all besides the extra thrust.

Your buddies with 900's should try the mod chamber or, better yet, a powerfactor.

Mod chamber FTW. Way easier to install and remove. I have one mod and one limited.

I hate installing and removing the limited. It sucks.

Haven't tried swapping chambers on the same setup(pump/motor) but I've heard the difference between the two is negligible.

My 771 has a mod my 865 has a limited. Both have the headpipe and manifold bored. The 865 is out to 50 something mm. The 771 is at 48 or 49 mm.

Thanks for all of the info guys, I found a new in box limited chamber b-pipe here on the X and it is on its way. The guy had drilled and tapped the mani for dual cooling, but never actually installed the pipe. Now I'm trying to figure out what I should do for cooling. Just read about 15 pages of opinions, seems like everyone prefers something a little different. The water temps I ride in vary from 60 to 90F, so that's a pretty big range. Not sure how I'll do it yet, if you guys have any ideas I would appreciate it. I'm not opposed to putting an ada girdled head on at the same time so I only have to tune it once.

for water routing just "T" the line from your bulkhead, 1 into each spot on your manifold because its set up for dual cool, then out the head to the bottom of head pipe, top of head pipe with another "T" w/ the stright shot over board pisser and the 90 deg outlet to your stinger.
