Lites class ski setup

I'm a sxr fan as well, they work well just like superjets when set up right and klipper podiumed on one last year at havasu I think. For faster ski classes I'd definitely be on an sxr though. That's where the weight would come in handy

Just to verify MSD enhancer is legal correct?

10.8.2 The original electronic control unit may be modified or aftermarket so long as it does not offer any additional inputs or outputs than the original unit, and it must connect with the original connections. No additional sensors may be added (e.g., exhaust gas temperature, detonation sensors, etc.). Engine temperature sensors may be disabled.

Yes. The rules are written to exclude total-loss setups like the larger MSD system or anything that changes your flywheel/pickup/front cover setup (ie: 760 electronics). Anything that replaces the OEM CDI 1:1 without mods will pass tech. An Enhancer is considered a 1:1 swap and therefore legal.

Yes it is legal to run the 760 cyl, on the newer Superjets they come with the v cases that clear the sleeves.

Msd enhancer is also legal

Stop going up on your main

Thanks for the reply

Just looked my 2012 has the 64v cases. So I would need 64x cylinder or the one that says 62t y-2, correct?

Got the msd

I have a lean hesitation ever since I removed choke plates so kinda have to mess with the main.

Your main might not be the issue. If you haven't lowered your popoff pressure then that could be part of it. What are your full jetting specs?

If you haven't changed the seat and spring then you'll probably want to try a 2.0 and 95g to see if that helps.

I'll have to verify, 132.5 main and everything thing else is oem. I did not change the popoff when I removed chokes plates.

So what I am interested in is the two/four sponson rule. So maybe I'm thick, but what does 'models homologated in quantities of 500' mean? They were running four sponsons in my limited class at WF.

Lites: Models homologated in quantities of 500 shall be allowed an additional set of sponsons for a total of four sponsons. The total sponson length shall be limited to 1,524 mm (60 in) in a single or two sponson configuration. The decision of the Technical Director and/or Race Director regarding modifications will be final. Any question regarding the legality of modifications should be directed to the IJSBA or IJSBA affiliate prior to use in competition.

Limited: Ski PWC Homologated under 4.1.2 Only (500 Units): If a model has not had the hull updated for greater than five years then all updated year models shall be allowed an additional set of sponsons for a total of four sponsons.

For example, kawi and Yamaha both made more than 500 800sxrs and Superjet's and both hulls have not been changed in the last 5 years therefore they are allowed two sets of sponsons

I was confused because most people around here told me in person you can only run two sponsons. Ok.... Then there were 4 all over the place at WF. So I was unsure, good to know now.

and this is why we need a thread to figure out the IJSBA rule book.

Ill update the first post with some of the things we solved in the thread to make a list of MODS allowed.
Please chime in and I can add or subtract to get a good list for us.

So when you go to 760 cylinder with dual 38's and 61x exhaust, how much of that rated 90HP is lost? I'm guessing a lot of the power increase has to do with the 760 couch pipe and the fact it should be running on quite a bit bigger carbs?
