Little nose job

Went down to Port Aransas with Skinnyman and his friend Boyd this weekend. Had an epic time, feel like I did 200 rolls.
Within the first 20 minutes of riding I lost the boat in a good sized roll(only time all weekend.) Still had the death grip with one hand as the ski whipped around me. I felt the thud when it hit the ground nose first, and I then stood up in MAYBE 3' of water. When I took off I noticed that my ski seemed a bit shorter in the front, lol.
Result was a crunched nose job, which had been ghetto repaired for Daytona last year. Surprised that it made it this long. Time for some more glass!
The duct tape held for about 5 minutes, so I rode almost a day and a half with this gaping duct-tape covered hole on my nose. Very lucky to have had a successful trip with it like that, but I'll be damned if I'm driving that far not to ride. Skinnyman was betting me that we'd be pulling it in off the bottom for sure.

Yeah no kidding. They felt awesome, wish I could recreate them, haha. I think it was all in wave selection, my guess is I was hitting them too late and getting tossed a little funky by the lip. Someday I'll accidentally do another!
I like the tow strap.
Yeah thats all about the function over form, haha. Went without a tow loop for a while, then went on a long ride tanker chasing and decided I HAD to come up with something quick. It's been like that for several months. Actually had to get towed a couple weeks after putting it on, worked great. Only complaint is that it snags the bunks sometimes when loading, otherwise it's golden, ghetto-golden.

Sweeeeet!!! I like your dedication to ride hard after damage!

Sooner or later seems like most hard surf riders kill the nose on their skis. At least if ride in shallow conditions.

11210906a.jpgYeah...it was a great time! Warm, decent waves, clear sky, and a full moon. Had a blast. Will showed some hardcore dedication for sure. Here's another shot of his nose. Definately love that sticker!!11201009a.jpg11201824.jpg

hahaha. I think you got your money out of that hull. thats crazy it still floats, or do you have to keep the throttle down before it fills.

Definitely had to stay on the gas! I tried like hell not to let the nose dip much the rest of the day. It wouldn't have lasted long floating on it's own. I even hooked up the bilge pump that day. After the nose smashing of course.
