We are trying to get a surf cam setup of the freeride jetski zone. Testing the auto FTP with hotel internet. Let me know how it works. Its uploading 6x a min, we many have to tune that in later based on performance.

Its on the homepage of my website:

It's running and grabbing pix 6 times a minute. Yeah, I know the cam isn't not running but I'm ready.

For those curious about how it's done using the power of Linux:

#!/bin/bash
while true
do
wget http://www.surf-mb.com/camtest/capture1.jpg
mv capture1.jpg `date +%Y%m%d%H%M%S`.jpg
sleep 12
done

This create files with the name as the date and time in the format 4 digit year, 2 digit month, 2 digit date, hour (00-23), 2 digit minute, 2 digit seconds. So right now it just grabbed 20120107154950.jpg. That took about 10 minutes to put together. Putting the time lapse vids together does take a little time.

Cam is back online. I currently have it down to 2 captures a minute because hotel wifi is not the greatest.

SUNDAY AM: WARM and there are occasional nice small tubes coming through.

Very cool, one thing though is that I do not even have a tripod. So everyday I the cam angle will change everytime I put it outside or someone kicks it over, ect. Over a long capture video it might look kinda jumbled.

I have changed it to grab a pic every 30 secs. Here is a little test I did of 2.5 hours compressed down to 3 minutes. Looks pretty good when you full screen it and turn it up to 720 or 1080:

There is a Best Buy close by. Spend a few bucks and get a mini-tripod! :smile: This is important history to save at such fine quality.
