EH, not really.......the IJSBA's reach is really only as far as the far bouy at an event. I can't drive an F1 car down the freeway to practice. I'm not saying that there shouldn't be an allowed time or place to ride jetskis, as the two are obviously different. But the point I'm trying to make is that the race car sanctioning bodies aren't around to protect drivers rights to drive on public roads.

That happens so rarely...that when it does, it's ok to just stay home. Or now.....we go ride dirtbike instead!!! :cheer: :cheer:

Remember, we actually get up to early to catch the good surf. It's only real choppy when it's raining and we get storm surf. And not sure if you heard, but we dont' get much rain round these parts.

i hear ya........

this past weekend we went out to black creek (freshwater) which is about an hour west of here...

we took the pontoon, a 20 foot moomba with twin fat sac's and the ski's.......the day was slightly chilly...but FUN AS HELL

i was as sore this mondy when I woke up for as far back as I can remember........jumping boat wakes is WAAAAAAY different than waves..

jeesh... we sure have it made here in michigan. i've never been hassled more than asking for registration and fire ext. on the 4th of july on a sheriff-resident lake.

i've done some really stupid stuff in front of a lot of authorities... i guess they have bigger fish to fry.

best part is they aren't even patrolling til after memorial day, and put the boats away after labor day! schweeetttt...

no no, im not saying that it is their duty, i am saying that if they want to advance the state of the sport they should work on changing laws. less laws = more riders= more competitors= more $$$$$

well here in cleveland i cant say that there has been a day that i havent been stoped and checked for papers fire estingueser and a damn wistle. i even got escorted to the ramps once cause i didnt have proof of ownership of the ski and my fire ex was to small and not red in color(it was one of those white kitchen ones from walmart. theres one cool guy (bald and always wears sunglases) he cut me some slack a couple of times and gave me a warning, when i didnt have any paperwork or extingueiser on me(twice).

Just go BIG!

When we are on the water and I see the Fuzz I do my best to go big and show them what's up. It usually works and they can't help but reconize tallent in the end. If the cops are giving you crap just do like I do and show them an no handed barrel roll. Chances are if they are bugging you... You need to practice more.

John - based on your links? In our case it just doesn't matter. The rules say no vehicles over 30 mph and the must obide a counter clockwise turn around the lake at all times. Im not the top tallent but ride with them and they have paid their fees to practice and be #1 in the WSC'06. We need to figure out how to resolve this in a proper manner. Im sure I know you or soon will so lets talk,

I asked our WP doing tricks may seem reckless, he stated you must have your eyes "looking forward" at all times. But this is funny a couple weeks ago I was at the boat ramp, 50 degrees outside tuning a carb. and got a warning. Well my dog was off a leash! the park was empty just him and me, no one else for at least .5 mile, he just had to show no one around -he's still in charge!

It depends on where you ride -- we ride in the Ca. Delta and do not see the local authorities too often, and when we do they don't bother us , usually they throw us a thumbs up.
But when it comes to lake riding I have found (depending what lake you are at) that the authorities are less forgiving when comes to Jet - Ski riding in general.

I agree, we just feel were walking on egg shells at the lakes we goto depending on the rangers mood for the day. I often leave the house telling my wife I will probably come home with a ticket. Don't get me wrong I've been riding ~20 years and have never received a ticket yet but since moving from NY to Cali I have had more conversations with the rangers than I would prefer. I guess its a finger lake vs. resoviour (sp) thing, I have never had a problem at the Delta or in Sac Area.

yea for sure...the only ticket i ever got out there was when i was THE ONLY ONE ON THE LAKE on super bowl sunday. they just like to harass us. one of the rangers actually likes us and will tell us what tricks they want to see while the other ones try to drive to the back of the lake and watch with a scope to bust us....
