Since the price is high for the pipe could they mean a 760 motor with a pipe and no "carbs"? Maybe it's putting words in the wrong order and typos not anti-crabism.

Entire thing is called a B pipe. Manifold, head pipe, and chamber. There is an older head pipe that people refer to as the "A" pipe.

Maybe this guy meant no carbs?.....or maybe he did mean no crabs.....pretty funny if so.

For that price, I doubt he'll find anyone to buy it. Crazy

The "A" pipe was the Kawasaki pipe.

And to be correct the pipes are not technically called "B Pipes".

There were called 701 Limited or 701 Mod Pipes. Then the Dry Pipes came along and their proper name for those were the "Type 4 Dry Pipe" and "Type 4 High Rev Dry".

I suppose they are not technically called a "B", but that design head pipe with 3 water screws says "B" right on it, hence the nick name.

The "A" was the old Kawi wet pipe, the newer ones come with the "B" head pipe. But didn't the old SJ 650 pipe come with the 2 screw "A" head pipe? I thought I saw somewhere they did. Maybe it was someone playing mix and match???

As BK stated, A is the Kawi headpipe, and the factory B is for the yamaha regardless of how many screws it had. Either one will work however on a yamaha, and the A version sits about 1/4 inch taller off the ex manifold and will help clear powervalves. Why do they have two that are almost identical??? Who knows or cares they both work and are the best going.

Think the earlier designs (650 kawi and 650 SJ) only had the two screws. I had a full bodied Factory Pipe for a 550 that had the adjustment screws also. I guess it was called the Little "a" pipe!!!!!! lol j/k

Good to know. I couldn't see a differenced between the A and B I have here accept for the screws, but I didn't really look that hard either.

What you will see is the top flange is a bit thicker on the A, and at the coupler area it might be machined a tad longer as well, almost need them side by side to see it. BTW saturday looking good.

I'll check that out next time it's out of the ski.

I want to make it Saturday, but it seems I have a fuel issue (I think it's rich), ski won't rev. I'll probably be making an adapter to put my Blackjack 44 on where the Kehein 40 is. The 750 ran great in the SX, but I did change a few things putting it in the X2. No base gasket, 650 electronics, and Blaster Limited instead of the SX chamber. Squish is good at .055" and 650 stator is advanced just a bit (about 1mm CCW, the 750 had an R&D advance plate on it that I'm told is about 6-7 degrees). It might just be cavitating so bad with the 15.5 prop still in. I just purchased a 12/17 Concord to put in instead.

I rode Mike's SXR all last weekend. It was nice in that wind chop, but you sure could feel that weight. Those are stable skis that's for sure.

Just plain blunt crabism descrimination... hahaha

I am pretty sure I am in for some Grayland.. I need to check to see if the love I gave my ski this winter was the cure for the saltwater allergy it had... Weather report looks promising too!!

Oh and I need a pipe for my ski too.. just not this one... hahha crab haters...
