Locking aftermarket ski on trailer or truck?

Does anyone have a more secure way of locking an aftermarket ski with a tiny bow bracket in place while traveling?
Wanted to avoid the straps marring the ski in transit and lock the ski for theft prevention.
This is what I came up with to secure the Rickter/Hurricane.
The threaded rod would make the attachment adjustable. The sleeve over rod covers connection and positively secures the ski into position.
I wonder if there should be springs on the threaded tube to allow some movement.
Thanks

push the ski forward until the chain is tight then strap the ass end pushing forward so the ski don't move back. I vary the length of the chain depending on the ski. I don't want it rubbing the bow eye lock. if I have skis on there with bow eyes, I just wrap the chain around the frame and lock it.

One can argue how easy with a hand hack saw blade it would be to steal most skis locked down thru the bow eye. But a real thief will steal any ski easily.

When I lock mine I put a thick cable lock thru intake grate and around the drive shaft, lock that to trailer beam, etc.

This way the only thing they can cut is the cable lock itself, which are made to be a bit harder to cut usually.

The crappy part is that locks only keep honest people honest. Both setups (above) would slow me down for 2 minutes, MAX.

I bought a few machine tools, a dirt bike, and a ski on the same trip. Lot's of money on one trailer. Bella slept under the trailer, on a fluffy dog bed, with her water and food bowls next to her. Only had one scumbag approach the trailer. Bella kept him there 'till I got there, a few minutes later. The clown was just trying to steal nickel and dime stuff. He was on foot, no way to take anything on my trailer.
Pretty sure he peed himself. I gave him 5 bucks and told him to get a job. Bella was not happy, till I got her a burger.

So, after rambling, my point is that nothing is safe. If I want in your house.... I'm in. Those above posts? I'd just take the trailer. We can just do what we do, and hope that humanity progresses appropriately.

That said, (as much as it sucks) more than one lock point.

I do the same. I picked this up on Black Friday from Watcon.

I use a long U Type lock for the rear of my ski, and just a normal safety style chain up front with a lock. I welded the bolts holding the chains to the trailer.

Like others have said, I could get bigger chains, but it's only going to slow down the criminal 30 more seconds....

Locks keep the honest people out, like drunk people, kids, and crazies looking for easy grabs.

no but actually i run a chain up through the intake grate around the driveshaft and strap it to the trailer. I dont travel with it on there just when parked.

I have the same lock, but have not been using it. After I bought it i found out you can get it open in about 10 seconds with a simple trick. I won't disclose that here, but shoot me a PM if you wanna know BK.

Personally I do this as my ski is on my hitch hauler quite a bit over night etc.

I run the chain through the intake grate around the drive shaft and then lock it to my receiver on my truck. No one is getting my ski without using power tools or removing the pump. Either of which should wake me up =)

Most people don't know what the licorice they are and are community is so small I never use more that a bike lock. Even when I drive down to Mexico.

...cordless 4.5" grinder. Less than 1 minute.

Stealers gonna steal.

I have a manual hydraulic bolt cutter that would eat that.

Remember, if someone wants it, they'll get it. (unless you have Bella. Then..... I'll have a piece of you.)
