Ok so I blew my top end, was gunna get it rebuilt but got this offered to me for a price of coarse.

Anyways just seeing if any of you guys think its worth it.

race engine mod by HPR, there is 3 tank on it. it a 650 with a 750 crank with 650 rod. The engine is aroud 690cc ( cause of the 4mm difference between 650 and 750 crank), weisco piston are 77mm so you still have 2 more overbore, the bearing from the crank have been change. There is racing porting on the cylinder and the cylinder have been reinforce. 180psi 93 or 92 octane.

Anyways he wants around 600 canadian including shipping and paypal fees

Hmmmm. I dunno then..

What is it that makes you guys think it seems like a headache?

Also does anyone know a link or could tell me everything needed to drop a 750 in?
- i know you can use you 650 electronics?
-starter, bendix, flywheel?
-intake manifolds and exhaust mani's are different im guessing?

If anyone knew some more about it thatd be really helpfull!

It sounds like a frankenstein engine, which may run very well but could be a hassle down the road unless you know the engine itself very well and how all the mismatched pieces work together.

Imagine this scenario, walk into your local dealer and ask for a head gasket, crank seal, pistons, etc. When he asks what engine you have, what do you answer? If you know the answer then you should be good to go but if you don't or don't see yourself learning it, look for something a little more straightforward and common.

Exotic parts and configurations are great for gearheads who love to wrench but are usually way more trouble than they are worth. Reliability and availability of parts are huge selling features in my book.

I'm with all these guys...no way. 701 in if you have the patience to build the mounting plates, or just put a small pin 750 in. That 750 "stroked 650" sounds like nothing but problems.

hmmm.. :):):):).

Anyone have a small pin 750 for sale?

also does anyone have any drawings or pictures of how 650 electronics get hooked up to the 750?

Wow there has been some kind of work done to that cylinder based on the welds and humps that are on the outside. I'm assuming that it was done to increase the transfer port area. Might be a neat thing to try out but could be a hassle. $600 is a a lot for somthing that could easily cost you more in the future. I had a 750 motor that ran a 650 4mm stroker crank. Very weird I had to buy custom 750 pistons with an 18mm pin. I could surely help you with it as im close but a 750 would be your best bet. I may be selling one soon.

Hey this is my engine for sale, we were talking about 500$ can shipping include. that engine is running super good. I bought it and decide to rebuld it anyway. the bearing from the crank was change and we put wiseco piston in it. the only reason i decide to not use that engine is cause I found a 800cc engine to put in my x2. that engine was way faster then my friend 650 with almost the same setup. It still use all 650 component except the crank that is a 750 with 650 rod.
still for sale if you want, I 'm just waiting to get my flywheel puller to do my compression test.

this set up use to be a race engine, the cylinder was reinforce, i don't know much about it. I was in need of a new engine at that time and this is the one I have found. there is a big porting on it. When I receive the engine I decide to send it to rebuild just in case. The bearing have been done, I had wiseco piston to it. I only try it for 3 hours ( the breaking time ). I found a sxr engine to put in my x2 so I have done the switch. But for the time I was using it, I was going faster then my friend mod 650sx. But there is not much to say about that engine except that the cylinder have been reinforce, there is a porting job that have been done, the cranks case is a 650sx, the crank is 750 small pin with 650 rod, there is a spacer between the cylinder and the crank case. As I said, there is not much more I can say about it, I bought it, rebuild it and after breaking I put it on the shelve. I'm still looking to get information about HPR racing, but I didn't get much information.
