Want to Buy Looking for a “starter” stand up ski

Looking to get into riding stand ups. I have not ridden stand up before so I am not looking to spend a ton until i know I enjoy riding and can actually ride haha.

Based off having some experience with a 95 yamaha wave runner engine along with what I have read on here it looks like the super jet is the recommended way to go.

I am looking for something clean/ reliable so I can focus on learning to ride and not just repairing while staying on the cheaper side (ideally <$3k)

I know thats probably a tall order so any advice what to look for/ avoid while scrolling Facebook marketplace would also be appreciated.

Also open to alternative skis for someone who is 6’ 235#, mainly flat water riding in lower Michigan.

My apologies if this is too vague to be posted in this section.

Look for a Superjet with 701 engine. Also fun, but takes some skill/practice to get on it is the 1993-1996 waveblaster 701.

Super Jet - Things to check when buying?

On Friday I’m going to look at a Superjet that is a few years old. It’s a bit of a risky purchase as it’s not running but that’s factored into the price. I’ll definitely give it a close look and do a compression test but is there anything in particular I should look at or check? Any suggestions...

Buying my first superjet

Hey guys, I finally sold my 550 so it's time to start looking for a superjet. Found this one and want to hear thoughts and opinions. Only thing that seems weird to me is the high compression head, yet he says the compression is 150? Seems a little low to me. Thanks

I only asked where cuz there’s lots of little pockets of people that ride together around the state. Connecting with some of them might allow you to see (and possibly even try) a variety of hulls. By saying “Kalamazoo”, someone local can see it and say “Hey, meet us <here> at <sometime> and you’ll get to see lots of options.”
