Why would you rather have a modded OEM than an enhancer? I have both and was planning on running a jetinetics/enhancer combo. I read that the curve was better on the enhancer but I have no experience with either one.

Because Enhancers are overpriced pieces of ********, with little to no performance difference vs stock and less reliability.

I've had great warranty service from Greg at Advent. I had 2 box's fail for my sxr and both were replaced. I've also used it with a RAD wheel with no problems and again this is on a SXR.

I agree..................had a suspected failure, but it turned out to be plugs:frown: (you MUST run resistors with an advent).

Had another red labeled to me free of charge for the weekend, and even after finding out the issue was on my end, Greg just asked me to return it.

Awesome service and product! He (Greg) even gave me his cell and said to call if I had any issues over the weekend!

I have one on my sxr and sj and love them both!

Advent Rocks!

That thread proves that stock CDI's have better reliability, even with messed up stators.
I'll take that over an MSD Enhancer any day, especially considering there is no performance benefit to be had with the MSD.

Point taken about the reliability of stock vs. Enhancer.

I'm still going to question the performance benefit of stock vs. Enhancer. I think you gain performance over stock.

Advents ROCK!!! (When they work...:aargh4:)

I will admit that there is some performance gain.
However, much of that comes from the rev limit adjustability. (Which a modded CDI has, too)
The curve itself - meh, I don't think it's worth more than 50 bucks.

Admittedly, I am not very good at noticing small power increases (seat of the pants feel). I did not notice any difference back to back.
