Looking for good machine shop in florida

Hey guys anyone know of a competent machine shop that can do a bore job with a torque plate, and turn a flywheel and balance it afterwards? All the ebay guys dont use torque plates, all the local shops down here In swfl dont even want to do small engines at all.

Closer is better for turnaround time but if I gotta ship it to cali I will, who does nice work?

I know torque plates are big thing in the high horsepower engine world I’ve made a few of them but I’ve never seen or heard of anyone using them in small engines. You would need like three of them to truly mimic the distortion. On a superjet based cylinder

You just absolutely, positively, don't need a spacer plate when boring a Superjet cylinder, (the fasteners pull on the waterjacket- no distortion to cylinder).
The Kawasaki studs are close to the cyl. sleeve- leave the studs installed! - again no torque plate needed- just spacer blocks taller than the studs.

I had a 250r cylinder done without a plate years ago and the next time I took it apart it had an obvious wear pattern by the studs so I'm a little gun shy to do it again. Good point though on stid placement I hadn't thought about that. I'm doing a Kawi SP 750 1mm over, the studs look somewhat close I've seen better I've seen worse.

So your saying just torque the studs down on spacers?

This is the shop I use which is in Starke, FL. He’s one of the best around and is a small business that I like to support. Most people send him their cylinders and he ships them back. Quick turnaround as well.

Leave the studs installed- don't attach anything to them. Spacers would be needed between cyl. deck and boring table for clamping.
Discuss it with the person doing the boring....
