Super Jet Looking for someone who works on 701 motors

I was thinking about PM Jetmaniac to see if he could help me out with my 701. My sled has not be started in 4 years, so I really need some help in getting running again. It has a 62T bottom end with a 61X top, ported cylinders, new pistons, ADA griddle head, and Factory B pipe. Since it hasn't been started in 4 years, I think it has some oxidation that has built up.

Any input is appreciated!!

First, i would check compression and spark. Then start with rebuilding the carbs, fresh fuel. Hopefully it was put away correctly. Do you know why it was parked for 4 years?

I have rebuilt a few carbs for people on the x and 40+ a year at my shop.

Jetmaniac is a great option, top notch service.

There may be a good repair shop local to you. But I have seen many shops that don't know how to setup these carbs/motors correctly.

I'm no pro on fixing motors and such .but I would go buy some marine fog spray and put it down the spark plug holes first .I would let it sit for a couple of hours and try to spin the motor by hand at the mid shaft with no plugs in it to see if it will spin freely .then i would do what .yama rider said ...just my two cents

With the motor u have sounds like u got a good built motor with porting and such .i would hate that u just start cranking it over when its been sitting for 4 years with no lubrication on the pistions and cyc walls

I would follow hodges suggestion of lubing the cylinders first. Or better yet take the cylinder off and check everything out first. These engines are really really easy to work on. Just dive in and you will surprise yourself with how easy it is. It will also be worth your time to read through most of these threads:
