Looking for turn key backflip ski

Flatwater flip for 12k in the middle of summer may be rough. If you're ok flipping off a boatwake that's quite a bit cheaper and 12k should do it.
Yea I hear ya. I’m just trying to see what’s out there. I wouldn’t mind throwing a bigger motor in next year if I find something worth buying.

I was in the same boat/budget (no pun intended) last year in early spring
Here are my tips:
- Get a carbon hull from a good manufacturer. Do not settle for a crappy hull.
- Look for something with a 148 or 155 pump already. Even if its a stock 155. if you want to go from 144/148->155 in teh future, its kinda a PITA cause you have to change pump shoe. stock 155 pump to a skat or something is an easy swap
- Even if you get something with a small motor, good supporting parts can make your big motor upgrade a lot more feasible later. E.g., a lay down pipe, good ignition, good carbs, intake, etc all add up very quickly when upgrading motors.

For a point of reference, I bought my havoc last year for around $11k in early spring. It had a JM 781, PFP pipe, no ignition at all, 144 mag pump and 38mm carbs. I learned to flip with that setup (on a 155 6 vein pump). Since then, I've switched to a 155 6 vein, then to a 155 skat. Switched from 148 thrust trim to 155 thrust trim then to P&P raptor trim. I've switched to a 1015 PHP motor with Novi 48s, then switched to an ET1107 with the same carbs. I've run an MSD enhancer on the 781, then upgraded to zeel, then tried MSD total loss, then built another zeel system. I've got WAY north of $20k in this ski thats worth... IDK... $17k on a good day? no idea what its really worth.

It's much easier to spend the money on the best setup up front if you plan to upgrade. You will save a ton of money that way.

On the other hand, I feel its better to learn to flip with the smallest/simplest motor/pump combo thats possible so you learn the skill. There are some decent complete ski deals in the for sale section right now.

Good luck!

First EVER standup??
UM........I had been out of the game 10 years and came back by buying exactly what your looking for and at the same price point.
While awesome it takes some getting used to FYI!!.
I looked at Krash as an option also. Some quirks from the first few years alledgedly got worked out but I still steered away. Partly because I wanted a ski immediately and COVID slowed shipping down. So Krash was months out!!
I ended up buying out of the classifieds on here and having shipped. Was worth it to me having something that was already sorted out .In my experience I learned a purpose built FW flippable freestyle ski is going to be just that!! Its not a ski to cruise the lake with friends. Its going to be fun as hell though after it kicks your butt for a bit!
