What's up fellas!
Thanks for taking a look here. This one may go on for a while, but I want to at least get the ball rolling.
My oldest son 25 yrs. old and is in the Marines and when he was home a couple weeks back on leave, he wanted to see a knee doc to get checked out. He's a pretty quiet kid, so for him to say that, I knew something was up.
Well we didn't have the time to get him to the VA, due to a super short leave, so when he got back to base, he got checked out and was diagnosed with minimal, or no cartilage left in his knees. Very common along with, hips, feet and back injuries. These kids get their asses kicked, but they also kick ass for us, so we can brraapp it up.
He's pretty bummed, because he's on light duty now along with a long road ahead trying to get it taken care of and also thinking of a future while still in and after the corps. He's already not liking the sounds of a possible honorable discharge due to this.
So there's a lot up in the air at the moment... Military budget cuts, proper medical attention, life after etc..
Is anybody familiar with rehab on this? Options, therapy, treatments, etc...?
And is anybody familiar with the processes of the military as far as long term injuries effecting your life are? He has a few that were incurred while enlisted. Sight, hearing, feet, knees, hernia to get started.
He's, for the most part, a super healthy kid. Works out daily, eats right and takes good care of himself and his family. He's been this way since middle school and is very driven.
Thanks everybody!
