Looking to do some work to my SN

I know that you guys get this a lot and all half of you are going to say is use the search bar, but I have read builds for hours on end and could still use some advice. I have a 94 701 SN superjet with footholds a hood with the air intake holes relocated and the liner redone inside. Other then that the only mods it has is an Ocean pro flame arrestor and a 16* Skat Trak impeller. I am looking for a more freestyle orientated setup but also want something that I can just ride around comfortably for fun, and mess around on. So my goal is I would like to be able to try rolls of of good boat wakes, nose stabs, and maybe try a backflip off of a v wake. MY current plan is to chop the back 3in, fabricate a hanpole like motozachl has on his Square, some sort of a pipe, head, advanced timing, and whatever else you guys can suggest. Keep in mind I would like to do this on a budget, so I am looking for the best bang for my buck. It doesn't have to be the best stuff they make it just has to do the trick. Thanks in advance axelman.

Shortened RN pole -2 and bbracket
head and pipe. And water box
Porting and ignition.
These will get you off for a while.

Factory B pipe is expensive but it's one of the best bangs for the buck as far as engine mods go. I'd do a limited b pipe and not worry about the other engine mods for now.

RN pole setup with correct steering and plenty of premix are the only other things I'd suggest for what you want to do. Ride time is the best mod.

Oh, and a helmet if you don't already have one.

Best to post this kind of stuff in the marketplace. That'll keep your thread on topic also.

On the pipe, Coffman Sizzler is the poor mans B-pipe. As painful as it is, popping for a Factory pipe setup is probably worth it.
I would recommend a low pitch hooker prop, that will get you some bang for your buck. 9/15 or a 10/16 prolly.

This is a expensive sport tho if you want to skip to rolls and backflips on flatwater. Someone once said that "power makes up for a lack of skills."
Power costs money, how big do you want to go?

I have the money to buy a pipe. I just hate to spend it all in one shot, but I guess you pay to play. I am not looking to do anything to crazy at the moment so I think that I will buy a b pipe and a few other things and do the best I can with what I have and work on improving my riding abilities and work my way up to bigger things from there. The problem I have is that I try to fund to many expensive hobbies at once.

Try contacting Jetmaniac for some used parts. He has been very helpful for me. He has a lot of used parts. I just tell him how much I have to spend and he helps me select the best new and used parts to get where I need for my budget. He has been fair on his prices and hasn't tried to take advantage of me. You might be able to sit around and wait for a better price on a part but for his customer service and availability of parts it's worth paying a few extra bucks of haggling with some random person.

The best bang for your buck would be a pipe (JM doesn't have any used B-pipes, I've asked). I personally wouldn't buy a used B-pipe anyway. People don't maintain them, the screws are damaged, and you only save like $100 because they hold their value. If you are looking to save some money, try to find a used manifold and chamber, then buy the head pipe new. Optima racing sells the new head pipes for under $400 I think. The head pipe is the part that is usually damaged when you buy used. Just be careful buying a used manifold. If it's been bored incorrectly it can leak around the seal and let water in your motor.

I would get a bpipe, a 12/17 skat swirl(used), a high compression head(used-doesnt have to be girdled), and mod your stock cdi. Everything can be used except the pipe. I did this setup minus the head and noticed a tin if difference in bottom end snap. And the high compression head will add even more. Modding your stock cdi is free, and then when you get a pipe you won't be bouncing off the rev limiter. Used poles like umi and AC can be had for around 300 as well and a nice used quick steering system and your off to the races!

We just built a SN with the same goals as you... freestyle and on a budget. The best bang for the buck was the limited b pipe and ADA head with domes to get 180psi compression. Got the b pipe new directly from Factory and got the ADA head used off this forum.

Other mods included a scupper valve, bored nozzle and trim and replacing the shortened RN pole with an xmetal pole. We got a lot of parts from JetManiac (good prices, fast shipping, and very helpful) or used from other members.

Here's a link to our build thread.
