You could get a 2 bed, 2 bath condo right on the lake in Cornelius (which is the expensive, ritzy area where I live) for like ~ 160K up to 400/500K
There is a 3bed/3bath townhouse right nextdoor to my lake house for sale for 190K. In one of the nicer lake front communities.

If your into flatwater riding we don't have nearly the active group like we did 8-10 years ago. Everyone pretty much does there own thing because we are so spread out and most have a ramp less than 5mins from there house. Everyone on lake norman seems to the mentality of why should i drive 45mins or more to jetski if I can do it in my back yard. Its super lame we cant seem to compromise and ride together more often. I think as a group we rode less than 5 times this year. If your into racing, they have a very active group on Lake Norman.

The race group rides out of Denver NC north west side of the lake. The lakes just so big it splits everyone up

Yea on Sundays in the summer they usually setup a buoy course. Im always down to travel around the area to ride wherever...no one ever puts anything together other than riding right by my house, so that is where I usually ride. Hard to argue with riding 1/2 mile from you house.

North Georgia is also a very nice place to be! There is a bunch of people that ride on Lake Lanier and Lake Allatoona. We set up buoys pretty much every Sunday this summer in jet ski cove on Lanier and usually have between 10-25 skis there every weekend!
