Surfriding Looking to the future

I can see hulls being really expensive, but when I see $700+ on a trim system.. Don't tell me that costs a lot to produce. Yeah, people still line up for them, but that just seems ridiculous.

That being said, I'm sure someone is more than capable of producing a budget trim system out of stock parts and sell them. Seems like a common answer is to build your own trim if you can't afford thrust or xmetal, but they are all done different ways. I would like to see someone make one design that for sure works and sell it to budget riders with the cable and everything. Oh and make a drop nozzle option ;)

The things that really give me a good kick are poles, trims, skat stators, dasa motors, and beach carts. coming into the sport, thinking what your would expect them to cost, and then seeing what they do... just about blew my mind. by no means am i complaining, very high quality parts cost a ton of cash, i just wish there was the chinese knock off cousin, thats all. ;)

as for future changes, on a serious note. I would like to see the sport grow, and i have a feeling over the next 5+ years it will take off again. I would LOVE to see some more events in this area though i know its hard being canada and a short season. advances in prop technology, and motor tech would be really cool to see. seeing what the most you can get out of each setup. having new companies come in would be exciting. for the most part theres the top names, and that about it. Id love to see someone else experiment with ignition systems like epic did, or even play with 4 stroke (i know i said the bad word) setups to see whats possible. also seeing how light we can go is always amazing. Im excited for the day a freestyle hull is RTR minus fuel at under 200lbs. Were close!

Shmitty used to make one for 400-500$ maybe or cheaper.
