losing power

hoping someone can help me out, I have a 1991 waverunner3 650 that likes to lose power when I hit another boats wakes or 180's. I noticed that I don't have the power either at wot. it all happened after I was jumping it in some large waves on lake Ontario. when on the trailer running it out of the water if you rev it up it would act up as well. I changed the plugs and seemed to be better on the trailer but it still loses power over waves big or small. if i feather the throttle I can get it back up to speed .any help would be great thanks

What everyone is trying to say is you need to contact @JetManiac and drop a new JM 781 in her. :)

I think what everyone is saying is sell the couch and buy a stand up! ;)

But go through and check all the easy and visible things first make sure nothings obviously wrong. Check your compression and make sure that's decent. Carbs on older machines can always use some cleaning and then start to look into other stuff. Last year I had a stator slowly work itself out and would do similar things and also shock me. There's lots of things it could be so start with the basics.

Good luck

pull your plug boots, grab the strands with needle nose pliers, most likely some will pull out, cut back how ever far that strand is (Longest), Give it a tug, if some more comes out, keep cutting back until you cannot get any to pull loose, dont try to be He-man, just give a solid pull on it. most likely your wires are breaking down, this will cause it to loose spark energy when you are hitting the wakes and causing the wires to wiggle.

Hey everyone I realized that I forgot to update what I did last season. I changed out the coil (it came with ends and boots on it) and clean up all the connections in the electrical box. it worked ok all season after that. This is my second machine for my friends to use but it sure is a lot of fun. Thanks everyone for the help
