lost compression?

I took my jet ski's to Utah from CA on my yearly trip to see family. On the 4th day of riding my blaster lost compression suddenly and stopped running. The blaster has a single carb 701. I know taking the ski to higher elevation you loose performance while there, but can it cause other damage to the engine. I don't see how it could but thought I would ask if anyone has had similar experience since I take a few ski's there each year.

Turns over fine. Both pistons lost compression. Gauge read 25lbs on both. Did a compression check on my rickter to make sure gauge was working fine. Gauge works.

Ok I just bought a waveraider 760. the engine carbs intake will go in my blaster. I am going to part out the pieces I don't use. This is my first part out so any suggestions on the parts that are worth selling. Here is a list of what I believe are worth something.
Engine - going in my blaster
carbs (intake etc) - going in blaster
starter
bendix
flywheel
electronics
pump

Any input would be much appreciated.

As tempting as it is to sell, keep a bunch the small stuff for yourself. You would be amazed at how often it comes in handy to have spare nuts, bolts, washers, clips, OEM fuel, water and exhaust hoses, water separator, all those little ball and quick connect ends off the steering, thru hull seals, hell, even the rubber mat under the gas tank has been invaluable at times.

P.S. One preformed exhaust hose can be chopped up to make 4 of the curved B-pipe to waterbox couplers, (fits the B-pipes with the enlarged stinger mod that X-scream).

P.S.S. Last week I cut up a stainless screen from a GP800 flame arrester and used it to keep rivets from getting down inside a vacuum line, effectively rendering a $250K piece of equipment inoperable. You should have seen the looks I got when i told them where I got the material from. :)
