PARK TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - Rescue crews are searching Lake Michigan for a jet skier who hasn't been seen since Saturday morning.

The Allegan County Sheriff's Office tells 24 Hour News 8 the missing person had gone out gone out into Lake Michigan Saturday around 9:40 am with friends to ride large waves near the Holland pier heads.

The family of the missing jet skier called 911 to report that he had not come home which led investigators to search the Lake Michigan area near the Holland channel and Lake Macatawa.
The missing person's vehicle and Jet Ski trailer was located at a public launch site Sunday morning.

Witnesses in the area told searchers they last saw the missing person entering the Lake Michigan from the Holland Channel while on his blue Yamaha Jet Ski. He was last seen wearing a black neoprene wet suit, a grey colored float jacket and black helmet.

Allegan County Sheriff’s Office are searching Lake Michigan for the missing jet skier. Assisting in the search are crews with the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office, the US Coast Guard, Holland Police, Park Twp. Fire, Ganges Fire Departments and the South Haven Area Emergency Services.

At the family’s request, the name of this individual is being withheld at this time.

it sounds like they went out as a group... but then they left him out or did not notice he was not with them on the way back in... any way not good at all. I am still trying to find out if it was anyone i ride with or any one from the x.

"Pretty killer ride. The bigger ones rolling through were in the 12' range I would guess. Probably 100 or so people out there watching the waves and us tearing them up. Bruins almost lost his ski which made for some added excitement. Good times..." dont know if its the same guy but if it is id def say hes on the forum if it is def not good!

The Coast Guard has identified the victim as Kevin Bruins.

Allegan County Sheriff’s Office are searching Lake Michigan for the missing jet skier. Assisting in the search are crews with the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office, the US Coast Guard, Holland Police, Park Twp. Fire, Ganges Fire Departments and the South Haven Area Emergency Services.

How is someone posting that he almost lost his ski and now he is missing? Assuming that happened the same day
