proper etiquette when you are down is to have the tow rope hooked up to the front of your ski and holding the quick release on the free end over your head so the rescuer just has top pull up and you can clip on to him. Then get back in the tray so you can be pulled in.

The rescuer should only have to stop for a few seconds while in the break. He is risking losing his ski to save you, don't waste a second!

demon hit it right on the head....

tying tow ropes on skis is for lakeriders, you guys should know better than that

long tow ropes get stuck in pumps, shorties dont

hope you get her back!

Hahahahaha. Nice one. I love the whistling part. Yup b pipe + msd. That's bout it nothing special. But still a pain. I'm ok. Just trying to decide if I should go square or round. Its a big debate. Mmmmm. Let's see. Very hard decision

exactly what you just said, is what was going on. The vid doesn't show the whole thing. He was towed back to his ski multiple times by a different rider. I righted the ski at least three times. And he took my rope, then gave it back to me and told me it wouldn't fit through his eyelet. By that point the ski was going under.

Kind of agree , the video did make the rescue effort ..... well ......... look less than enthusiastic . In that situation , I hope I would be able to help or be helped more . I'm an inland guy . I don't know about surf , but I do know about solidarity . Glad you all at got him to shore .

something just occured to me, I was recently floating in the water with a foam noodle, just one was enough to keep my head well out of the water, so one noodle floats over 150LBS. on pwct wb1994 built his x2 and used chopped up foam noodle for flotation. so if we could make a bundle or ball of foam noodles and get a rope and carabiner on it, you could you attach it to the ski to keep it boyant and mark its location or even at that point latch to the ball to tow it back. Good idea for an emergency backup at rough surf days or not?

The ski was floating with half the tray up in the air. We tied a big orange signal flag 2 ft by 2 ft to it. Its just that the ocean was too rough to get out there at dark in a boat and go try and find it. The current swept it out to sea overnight?
