Lowered nose piece

Location

I am having the hardest time installing my lowered nose piece on my RN. I feel like it should be super simple, but it isnt. I cant tell if I am doing it wrong, or it just doesnt fit. If I try to force it to line up with the 2 holes on the side, that secure the stock nose piece, the front of the new one lifts up. There is also a little bracket underneath that is supposed to fit under the little bar to hold it down, but it does not seem to help. I have no idea on who made the nose piece, I bought it used, so I am not really sure where to ask.

So, for anyone out there who's put on one before, should it be this difficult? As I said maybe its just to wide/long as it doesn't seem like it wants to fit nicely. I will grab some pics later to illustrate what I mentioned. Any tips on getting it to fit would be awesome. Assumed it was a 15min project, gave up last night after 1.5hrs of frustration.

Here’s a pic of it, you can see how it doesn’t line up properly.

Is the bracket that is bolted to the nosepiece hitting the hull side bracket, causing it to not slide on? Have a picture of the underside of the nosepiece?

The bracket is hitting the body underneath the nose piece. But also it feels too long/wide. I tried fitting it without the bracket and it doesn’t fit well

looks like if you pushed it forward without the bracket it would work fine...i use wood screws in the sides also and the holes are bigger than the screws so has some play

If I push it forward the front lift half an inch. The wood screws seem like a decent idea for that

Mine is held in place with a 1/2" long stainless wood screw on each side in the rear. The stock bracket made it sit too low so I deleted it and filled the holes. The front is held on with a 1" stainless bolt with a piece of fuel line cut to length for the proper spacing. IMG_4936.jpg
