I'm getting tired of borrowing friends trucks or having my ski get beat up in the beds of my friends trucks. So im looking into lowering my trailer.

Why lower my trailer you say? Well, im going to be towing with this, at that current ride height.

This is what my trailer is setup like:

With the Fancy wheels and my bunk setup it rides way to high, even with a truck i need to be pretty far into the water to get it off.

I was thinking about a lower bunk setup, and playing around with the axel maybe installing blocks to raise the axel up. I think at that point i would have to relocate the mounts for the fenders, possibly make the float on the axel instead of being afixed to the trailer itself.

If anyone has any input suggestions or experience please post up im always open to new ideas.

I also think im going to bedline the trailer black... Input?

My car is lowered almost 4 inches. What I ended up doing was buying a 3 seater trailer, and put the bunks all the way at the bottom of the trailer. It looks like the right height compared to my car.

Ended up getting the trailer for 300 bucks.

You could always flip the axle to the topside of the leaf springs for about a 4" drop. Very common and simple to do but if you could risk the axle hitting the frame and you would still have to adress the fenders like you mentioned above.

Another option would be to replace the axle with a set of torsion axles or a drop axle, once again having to move the fenders up but that's going to need to happen no matter what.

With the trailer you have you are going to need to do some serious modifications to get any substantial drop from it. You are going to be limited by your axle hitting your frame and the fact that your cross bars are straight and not \_/ shaped ( cant really lower ski in relation to trailer). If you flip the axle to the top side of your leaf spring I would say you might net a 2 inch drop, I don't think you will be able to raise the axle any more than that due to it contacting the frame rails on bumps. I would also think about making the tongue of the trailer longer so your ski is farther from your car and therefor deeper in the water. I have what was a 14-16 ft john boat trailer and it has a super long tongue and I love the fact that I don't have to dip my rear wheels on my truck.

Hmm, want some tires with those wheels?

Wouldnt it be way easier to cut and reweld the tounge lower instead of lowering the back? That will level it out and still give you clearance.
Plus since the front is higher getting it off at the ramp should be easier

Build a beach cart into your trailer and never go down the ramp with your car again.
I just park, get dressed and wheel the ski down without waiting.

buy a fking pickup truck and use what you got. then you have a truck when you need one.

What if he has no need for a pickup "truck" and would rather drive something normal ?
Much easier to unhook a trailer and drive off like a human than be stuck driving a wheelbarrow all week just to take a ski to the water on the weekend.
