I was out last Friday night surf fishing at marker 103. We almost couldnt make it out because the waves were too big at the second sand bar... They were nearly flipping my 2 person ocean kayak vertically backwards. I cannot imagine hitting them with a ski... I need to get better at riding haha

Yeah, I check a different site and it has been growing all week. And usually when they call for 6' there are some in the 8' range on the back set so expect 12'-15' back there. For those new to surf, spend some time on the first couple sets getting comfortable before going to the back set. Also, keep your head on a swivel looking for other riders and waves. And wear a helmet!

If you are a novice surf rider the back set may not be the place for you This will not be like you see surf in cali It will be GNARLY for sure
Cant wait leaving 5 am in the water by 3

Awsome, you guys enjoy that 15' stuff. I'll be in the first set at best with my back issues and and my little 300 but at least I'll be there now.

Most likely going to show up Sat with wife and kids now. Put Melmack,Spunky and 3 kiddos on the list!

Well....scratch me off the list. As much as I hate it since I busted ass the last couple of weeks to get my ski ready, I'm not going to make it. Been sick as a dog the last few days, so I can't afford to miss anymore work and risk relapsing from being at the ocean. Hope you all have a killer time and be safe in those waves. Guess I'll see ya'll next time damn it!

Well ill be leaving tomorrow night to make it there around noon friday. Tim im glad to see u are coming along with the kiddos amd chris and his wife should be a great weekend. Swooperjet sorry u canr make it man but if things change who knows come ride and live it up. Larry u guys r rolling in friday correct?

Well we got there a little too late this time. It was good meeting a few of you guys down there though, bobob? and tyler(Im very bad with names) it was fun riding with you at the lake. I hope you get back home safe with some clutch left and brakes...


Ive decided Port A sucks btw, so we'll just have to see about surfside this fall.

That was a bad example of PORT A. We've had several very good rides there in the past. I didn't get to see much of anyone, and when I did, I passed out. LOL. But it was still fun. Went to ride Sunday and everyone had gone but we took the kids to the aquarium. Managed to make a decent trip out of it but we need to find a more predictable date for surf from now on. April can be great if it's still cold but with this early warm season, it blows, literally. I wonder if Surfside would have been any better? Maybee. Thanks to Skinny for getting things going this year! Good to see all you again. Hope to see some of you at lake Travis this summer. Can't wait for some big wakes on this 300!
