Crystal Beach has been done to death. Galveston is not too ski friendly since you can't drive on most of the beaches.

What do ya'll think of trying different beaches for a ride? Some of the MN riders (yamanube and etc.) will be down March 28 to ride Surfside.

I could probably put a small group together to check out Sargent Beach and Matagorda in April or May.

What about keeping one LSFR ride at CB each year (either Spring or Fall ride) and moving the other one around to different locals?

oh, and the surf at CB is typically small in September - all the more reason to find someplace else to have a ride. :wink:

Thats funny, Moonie and I was going for a midnight beer run on the Ranger Thursday night and when the cop stopped us he only wanted to see if we were on a Golf Kart. He then drove off saying nothing. We then finished our joy ride dune jumping. Man that thing is fun.

I flew down the road after that 8 second pit stop to put that strap back on the pit bike and never caught you, figured it was the flames on the Polaris,

I read the waves at S. Padre are the best in the gulf.

I'm a little leery about Padre, though.

What do you guys think?

EDIT: Is Corpus Christi any good?

we had a discussion on different ride areas last year, I'll see if I can find the thread.

I believe we may have issues with S. Padre being not very ski friendly - and they have tons of cops there, so pit bikes would almost surely be out.

I like corpus christi. So far it's the closest to me at only 11 hours. :biggrin:

Don't we want to find a shore on the West part of the gulf for the best surf?

Not sure, but last time I looked at a map, Texas IS the west part of the gulf. Am I missing something :dunno:

I think he means further south along the coast. Near CB, the coast runs basically east-west. Down by Mexico, it runs North-south.

I'd call part of it on the north.

CB, I'd call in the north west corner.

I guessed the best waves would be along the west coast of the gulf. Which is a good part of texas and a hell of a lot of mexico.

EDIT: U do the freeride in Mexico and I'm not going. :smile:
