I'd call part of it on the north.

CB, I'd call in the north west corner.

I guessed the best waves would be along the west coast of the gulf. Which is a good part of texas and a hell of a lot of mexico.

EDIT: U do the freeride in Mexico and I'm not going. :smile:

But the Hookers are cheaper in Mexico.. That might be a win win situation.

So, what do we need to do to decide where the next 1 is at? What type of research needs to be done? What are the factors (requirements) that must be considered? So far we got requirements of houses for rent near the beach, and beach parking. That shouldn't be too hard to find.

the biggest thing would be visiting the beach area to check out the conditions. I had mentioned Sargent Beach earlier (or was that another thread?) - but then I talked to a friend today that goes there alot. He reminded me that even though there is a beach there...it is VERY narrow. About 2 car widths from high tide line to dunes. That obviously would not work for our group. Maybe a small group ride, but anything more than a few cars would be a PITA

I think I'm going to head to Surfside next weekend with yamanube and the MN crew to check it out. There are areas at Surfside Beach that are very wide...plenty enough to have the campers parked at the dunes and have a nice large pit bike track with tons of room to spare between them and the water.

If someone that has been to one of our rides can check out the beaches further south, that would help too.

A few of our guys are staying right at the Surfside beach marker and the rest of us our right up by the inlet to West Bay, we will be riding somewhere in between.

I do believe Penguin is most aware, as the rest of us are, that you can use Google Maps as an alternative to Mapquest. To each their own. We do all travel quite a bit to ride and in general. Sometimes the obvious is best left unsaid.

Since you're new to group and the site, I'll just let you know.... folks will only take so much of the obvious. Just trying to save your pride and face. Most folks here have been doing this a long time and have a lot more knowledge of technical and mechanical stuff than your average person. Many are techies and white collar and many blue collar. You may think you know a lot until the right person calls you out and makes you look the fool. You keep playing know-it-all and some one will do it to prove a point.

You seem like a nice enough guy at the ride.. just trying to help ya out. If you want keep down the path you are on. So be it. Not my issue just my .02
