Freestyle Mag pump locking up

I put this mag pump in my rickter everything brand new bearings spun fine. I would be riding it then the pump would just lock up the first time it locked up upon starting up an destroyed my flywheel an bendix the second time I put about 2 tanks of gas through it no problem an it froze up again I have no idea why it is freezing up everything is aligned fine

Sh_t, I'm assembling my ski now. With all this talk about the Solas mag pump locking up...if the bearings were pressed in,. I pressed my bearings, and maybe it's not
done correctly. Or is it just the quality of bearings (C3 bearings are the only issue)?

Who knows how to put these pumps together, so that, it doesn't tear up everything in front of it?

The pump is locked up out of the ski so it wouldn't be my bendix causing that it is a salt an fresh water ski I used the bearing that came with it when I bought it from hot products kinda thinking this pump was a mistake now nothing but problems since

How are you getting it unstuck?
Are you able to find whats actually binding? Or is it just releasing magically?

Just curious, what impeller are you running?
I had to cut back the hub on my Hooker impellers because they were rubbing on the hub of the pump.

Honestly it sounds like you might have a botched the bearing install. From what i've read, the failures are bearing related, its not like the pump is reaching out and grabbing your impeller right? :)

Lots of people running the Solas without issues. Mine was built by JM, and *knock on wood* has had no issues.

I'm running a hooker prop I have yet to test into the pump yet. Right now it is out of the ski an locked up tight the first time it locked. Up it became unfree on its own which was kind blowing an had a noise in the pump area that went away rode it about two times after that's with no problem an now it's locked up

Why would you cut the hub on the hooker? Just run a spacer

I wanted to get my chan on the water. I didn't have a spacer (still don't). So we took off the little bit before the trailing edge of the blade. Used a lathe, i don't remember how many thousandths it was that we removed, but it wasn't a lot.

LOL i've done it to two impellers now. A 10/16 and a 9/15.

Sounds like a crushed bearing cage

Pull it apart and check and reassemble

Some people press in to much and load the bearings you need to then tap the front of the drive shaft to un load the bearing
