Hah not tearing it down ever again. I'll sell it before I cut it up. I'm picking up a blaster hull this weekend for the next time I'm in the mood to make a new hull.

I agree. Those straps just weren't cutting it. I never felt locked in enough to try anything. The few small re-entries I tried, half of the time I came out of the strap. I'm installing footholds now. Turfed them last night. I'm using an extruded aluminum piece from 80/20 Inc. to mount the adjustable holds. I don't like how it looks just mounting it to the inside of the gunwale, so I'm going to route out a pocket for it since the gunwale is almost solid epoxy/glass filler. Not sure how I feel about the adjustable holds either. They are pretty narrow. By the time I put in the padding and turf, it doesn't really contour to your foot anymore.

Very narrow. Especially the left hold.

Jig for the router. Using a slot cutting bit with a top guide bearing. The jig is offset so I can flip it around to get between the guides.

The whole process was kind of a pain in the ass, but I couldn't install traditional adjustable foothold tubs because of how I filled in my old ones. The holds themselves aren't symmetrical and the left one has a lot of flex. I got them cheap though, so I can't really complain. If they break, I'll design some in autocad and 3d print plugs to make my own.

I love straps. His were installed too close to the gunwhale and too narrow. You could get your foot in just not enough to feel locked in

I like straps for surf stance, but I've never felt as locked in as I have with holds.

Molds are for sale. Top deck, bottom deck, hood and hood liner molds. $1k local pickup (Houston area). Will provide infusion lessons and support. Top and bottom deck molds need a little bit of Gelcoat repair. Nothing major. These are the original molds. The original hull rode good, but needs tubbies for sure.

Also, original pole molds are available. $500 for the molds (top and bottom half).

Probably not. I love the way it rides, but there's already a lot of great options for hulls out on the market.
