Making Your Own Gaskets ???

Hello guys!

I got a roll of gasket (cork) material for my leak down test i do on my engines.

now thinking about it, will I be able to make my own gaskets for real use?
just paste and cut, unless someone had issues going this route ?

thanks...

spend the money and get the proper gaskets.... it will save your money and headaches in the long run. i.e. chasing down air leaks, chasing down leaks in general, improper sealing, blowing gaskets.

I think you should really use "cut" gaskets for your running motor. The only gasket I would consider making would be the ones between the carburetors and manifold. I certainly wouldn't make it with that cork material.

For leakdown testing it should be perfectly fine though.
