that wave was just the protype..it was obviously gutless and the reason they were going "left right left" was because the wave had zero power and thats how u create speed on a surfboard, its called pumping, unlike jetskis where u just pull a trigger to go fast u actually have to have skill to gain speed without a motor..in powerful waves u dont have to do that or just as many times as the wave dictates if there are sections that dont have power...if u judge a sport from a 50sec video of someone riding a knee high wave in a pond then i think u would also qualify as "special"..

Actually, when it comes to surfing, you are the first person I think of. Someone who has experience. I dont have any. Not a Dig or anything.

Wow. Ill take one! So much potential fun. You can surf and ski the wave half the day then wakeboard/wakeskate on a wench the other half.

im pretty sure a "wedge" of some sort is pulled through the water with some sort of winch system...the problem is that you have to wait for the wedge to retract and for the water to calm down before u can create a second quality wave...so pretty much u couldnt ride a ski in it cause your wake would ruin the wave....

Anyone ever been to a wave pool, and watched how they work? It's all in how you displace the water and give it a place to go that makes a wave. No moving wedge or cable, just a big "paddle" that rises quickly enough to get the ball rolling. Much like a tsunami. Add in a floor that gradually shallows, and viola! Waves.

Land is cheep especially here in AL. under 1000 an acre so figure maybe 5-10 acres.
What would the Wavegarden device cost?
What would insurance cost?
seem like a viable business? MAybe..

I emailed them to see what the machine cost might be.
