Manual brake stick for hitch hauling

Must be the gasoline in the tank. Why dont you ever see trailers float?

Hmm what about the air in the gas tank, if it's low on fuel its an 18 or so gallon of trapped air.

Few weeks ago I went headed to the ramp but my low fuel light came on, so I figured not safe being low on fuel might stall out on ramp. So I filled it up, but now that mention the gas tank prolly good to go on full so it's not an 18 gallon pocket of trapped air

Fuel tank? Are these people backing their vehicles in until the tail gate touches the water?

They back in deeper than you would
Normally with a trailer. I'd
Imagine the tailgate is touching but the fuel tank is still in front of the axle and prolly not even touching water. After they lost traction and go in then air in fuel
Tank could have an effect. good point......

I guess its still just an initial loss of traction.....

The differential is getting water in it thru the breather vent every second, if it's hot it will suck water in as it cools off. My brother used to launch his pontoon too deep like that, his Ford rear differential got real noisy after 1 winter, lol!

Lol fricken orwood.... Hey @Harbor I know when to launch orwood with a hauler sorta know when the kiosk closes etc then the bait shop is open and sells tickets and they don't give a crap, nor do the sheriffs.. At least they never said anything to me

Cool pic... Looks like the tanneu cover acts like a bladder. Plus late model toyotas have plastic beds.

Usually they just slide in due to the algae and just sink seen a power stroke last year at disco .

I like your brake holder I mean why not right ! Sure dont hurt...

I launch from the bed of my truck, but it's not lifted. I back it in until the end of the tailgate is touching the water (about 1/3 to 2/3 up the rear wheels depending on the ramp grade).
The diff breather runs up to the frame so it stays out of the water.

Never had any wheel spin upon exit, one of the ramps I visit is covered in sand at the bottom and the other is roughed concrete with deep horizontal lines.

I also set the e-brake and get out to launch the ski, I wonder if I should be reconsidering that... It never moves even an inch though. The parking brake has shoes inside the rear rotor.

I launched at lake Comanche couple weeks ago and the ramp had no slime on it. No tides there so maybe lakes are more safe. Around the delta or bay though and spots with tides I notice the ramp can be slimy at times depending on the tide. Summer/winter may effect slim too. Just takes one time, for me in down town Stockton, it's usually me and homeless people around, so I need to get it right.
