OK, let's vote on this and see what everyone thinks.

March 7, 8, 9

March 14, 15, 16 Spring break for TSU, TT, TCU, Tx A&M, and most others in TX.

March 21, 22, 23

March 28, 29, 30


Anybody know about other schools and does it matter? I guess we'll just let the votes dictate if we're joining or avoiding spring break. Shawn, did you have a weekend that you couldn't do?

Where is everybody? The entire CoTex crew should vote on this, please? Feedback is good. We (or at least, I) want to maximize attendance. Do you want to ride with crazy, drunk college students around or without? Which weekend fits into YOUR schedule best?

March 14-16 would be the "traditional" time, even though it coincides with spring break, I have never seen it be a problem around Pengiun's place. now drive north a bit and it gets a little rowdy... THE ZOO!!!

It's the "no solution" bit that I'm trying to resolve. The poll on location was pretty lopsided toward CB so that's easy, but no resolution of date was reached. I've got to be able to let my clinics know soon on which weekends I'll be available (and won't be). This means I need to get this settled in order to be able to participate.

I could not do the Sommerville ride, primarily because of work conflicts. I just do not have a lot of flexibility in my schedule once I book with clinics. Before I book, I have loads of flexibility. I can book myself off any weekend I want, I just decline bookings for those days. But once I book, I don't back out except for dire emergencies. That's part of why I am popular as a relief vet, I am dependable.

Im with you Duckie... My buddy at work usually takes off spring break to do the family vacation stuff (yuck) I need to put my vacation request in BEFORE he does. 2nd weekend or 3rd works for me.. However I do need to check my schedual at work to see which weekend is best for me.

I will have to check with my boss on my vacation time, but I should be good any weekend. The San Antonio crew is growing, and we have 5 standups and growing...

WOW... cant believe nobody has voted yet!!! Of course I'm guilty too, but I don't know what would be best for me right now - probably any of those dates is OK. maybe some PM's need to be sent to all the locals and regular attendees?

I voted. im off work the weekend of choice #3.

But we need to get this in stone soon so I can change my weekend and put in for vacation.

Sorry Oddie - I've been mondo busy the last few days and forgot to respond to your PM.

My thoughts:

Any date is fine with me, but I've already submitted my rodeo schedule and I told them I would not be available 14-16. (any time after that is fine as well)

I'd also be fine with moving it into April.

If someone with knowledge wants to coordinate and move the whole thing to Port Aransas - I'm fine with that too.

one thing - a Pismo ride is already scheduled for Mar 14-16. Do we want to shift our date due to that? I believe I read skinnyman saying he would be there for that ride.

I won't be making it to Pismo that weekend, so I'm open at this point. But I need to let my clinics know ASAP, hence the vote. I figure we'll give it a month max, so everyone can chime in. I'd rather be able to give my clinics answers sooner, but realize that everybody will need a chance to check with spouses, school schedules, etc.

It seems obvious from the location poll that your CB spot is the popular one. There's no reason why we can't have another ride at Port A if that gets scouted and worked out. I'll leave those details to someone a little closer than I am to that locale.

What's the odds on getting a Freeride '08 thread going, soon, since this has been "downsized"?

Vote's running heavily in favor of 14-16. If you feel otherwise, be sure to vote! We don't have anywhere near the number of votes I was hoping to see by now. I know it's early, but I gotta be able to plan, man.

We had around 30 riders at the Sep. ride (twice that last March) and we have only about 1/2 that many votes so far. Speak up boys and girls!
