Blaster Marine Formula - DeBond vs 3M 5200

So, I bought a 2004 SJ years ago and shelved the stock 701 motor and dropped in my JM781. I just got around to using parts from it and was unbolting the carbs last night and found they are fused to the intake manifold. I think the previous owners put 5200 on the carb studs. Before I totally destroy the intake or the carbs, has anybody ever used Marine Formula DeBond to break the grip of 5200?

I bought a set of new take off 38mm carbs off a 2015-2016 SJ. The screws were a bitch to remove and I thought I was going to snap a couple of them off. It may be something the factory uses. I used a lot of patience and just worked the screws back and forth until I was finally able to get them out. The diaphragm screws were the worst.

I'm talking about the intake manifold studs to which the carbs are bolted. The four nuts came right off, but the base of the carbs are essentially welded to the intake.

I think the previous owners put 5200 on the carb studs.

Could it be corrosion from the dissimilar matels of the stud and carb and/or salt corrosion ?

Anyways I guess silicon should be noticeable enough like you've mentioned, I've never used that stuf you found but it looks like the ticket

I have had good luck with PB blaster. Best to get a gallon and soak/submerge the part overnight.
