Massive Flatwater freestyle by the japs.. running 8-900cc's! I want to know how!!?

Okay, they are getting MASSIVE air, but they wouldnt weigh more than 60kg's I'd say!

Now apparantly the motors they're running are 808cc up to 900ish! Obviously they're using very lightweight hulls too.. but what kind of pumps and prop pitch would they be using?

I've heard they might be running seadoo 160mm pumps?! Also maybe 155mm.. but what kind of pitch? I want to know these specs so I can pull something as big as these guys on flat!!

you answered all your questions with your own questions. Nobody here has that kind of info as to what someone in Japan is actually running. Best thing to do is contact someone like Thrust Innovations and get them to build you a package.

One thing is for sure...the majority of us WANT power but when it comes down to it, we PREFER low maintenence along with readily available and inexpensive fuels. The drawbacks can quickly start to outweigh the benefits. Along the same lines, do you want to backflip all day or do you want to ride? 40 backflips seems like it'd get just as boring as doing spins on a couch...Just my 2 cents.

race gas and crazy high compression is where its at for the snap!

150 hours of run time is the recommended rebuild on the xs1000 / pump gas setup.




wonder if they (japs in the video) are going small bore / big stroke or big bore / smaller stroke... and what kind of longevity they are getting out of those motors.

I just check out the website with google translate, they are running 91cc pistons with a stroked crank (extra stroke wasn't specified but the cases were milled out) The hull is 70lbs, it runs a 62t case with a brace plate that bolts on the bottom, interestingly the intake was not filled and milled like commonly seen in the states. Jugs are full cnc powervalved, exhaust is custom cnc milled/welded headpipe and welded pipe. I assume it also runs a 155 pump as they have them listed on the site.

I will put this way, no one in that vid has anything below 1100cc, and you woulnt believe they pumps, and what about 21mm strokers?

Check the vid right at 0:34 and look the size of that pump tunnel, they don't use scoop greats they use
construction shovels, lol

My guess is REALLY crappy. The big drag cars rebuild their engine every run. Would it really be far fetched for some of those guys to get one day or one competition on a motor before it needed a rebuild?

Those motor only need 2 minutes of running time anyways

Ok so I have a fully worked 701 (every mod i can get) and will be going total loss soon to replace my msd and tbm II flywheel.
Stock 62t 144m pump.. what pitch prop should I get to update my stock 08+?

The obvious thing would be to get good bottom end punch from a 9/15, but apparantly the oem prop is a similar pitch to that anyway. On the other hand, Ive been told for flatwater freestyle, you want good mid to top end!?

If I do get the right pitch prop sorted, will it also fit in a 144mm magnum pump if I decide to get later, or other option, should I just go all out and get say, a 148mm mag pump with a lower pitch to make use of the extra torque?
