Is that the same chit as hydro turf?

Red or black boys? Have to order some parts for my gf ski so I am gonna order up some hydro turf, just stuck on what colour to get.

As far as being the same,IDK! Ross Champion apparently is the owner. Here is a little info from the website:

About Us

Soft Deck is a family run business that grew out of a desire to bring an amazing product to the boating industry.
The owner of Soft Deck, Ross Champion is a life long sailor, boating enthusiast and a multi-time World Champion jet skier. The jet ski world is very familiar with a product called Hydro-Turf which is used as a soft, non-skid solution on the trays of personal watercraft. Hydro-Turf was one of Ross' biggest supporters and sponsors through out his jet ski career and Ross adapted the product for use on many of his personal boats through out the years.
At the end of his jet ski career, Ross began working with Hydro-Turf's parent company Pacific Creations to adapt a product line specifically for the general boating market. Soft Deck is the result of that collaborative effort. Currently all of our products are developed in conjunction with Pacific Creations and are manufactured at their Southern California facility. This relationship allows Soft Deck to leverage Pacific Creation's well established supply chain and manufacturing capability in order to provide our customers with the best prices and highest quality products possible.
Our goal at Soft Deck is to help boaters get the most enjoyment possible out of their boats. Our product has countless uses and we hope to be able to teach all boaters how to use Soft Deck to make their time on the water safer and more enjoyable.

Next build,l'm gonna give them a try.lf anyone has any experience here with Soft-Deck maybe they will chime in.Ross has a lot to do with our sport,so l'm glad to support him!

Totally agree with ya Boyer! Maybe one of the mods (matt) can do this for us.

l would like to hear from others that have used Soft-Deck mats on their builds.

Anyone?

I started a new thread with your first quote. I can't post a link from my phone so if someone viewing from a PC would be so kind...

Ski is all done, tweaked with more timing & compression... These really helped the ski come to life... Now over the winter install the power factor water box, install a mag stubby cone, Bore the Reduction nozzle, Pro Tec trim nozzle.... These are the fine details that really help the ski make that bottom end snap...

Little Video taken at Lake Maniac.... Me, Lucas, Chris all rode it... The pole needs to be shorter for flatwater. Don't worry chris, I cut another 2 inches off the pole before we shipped it..

Nice work.

Not to bad for my first build...

Looks sweet, very nice install. How come no powerfactor water box?? Are you not worried about water getting back into
the motor

I wanted to use one, but the Matrix is built to unbolt a oem SJ & install everything over. Which is nice if your looking to just upgrade your oem ski package. Even Bobby said thats really what the ski was designed for..

It just wouldn't fit right without grinding out the battery box mount Bobby installed.. It really needs one, the motor has to be on the pipe & in the mid without the box installed... I'm sure Chris will tweak it on his own, after 2 yrs I think he's just looking at riding.

Got to try out this canadian matrix the other day.

This was my third matrix ride, have tried ocd's and scott s' -2 matrix before. I enjoyed riding their skis in the surf so i was excited to try the -4 length.

This ski is alot of fun to ride. It rides fairly nose high but easily controllable. You can make the ski carve and turn well, and then also unhook and spin it easily.

I was impressed overall with the ride. It does need a shorter pole to be more balanced for flatwater. As mentioned before the jettrim mats blow and not sure about foothold shape. It is almost impossible to lock in which makes trying inverts a little troubling. Also the intake grate/pump setup needs some refinement to put all that power to the water.

Great ski chris! Glad it is finally finished and you will finally get to enjoy it!

Ski arrived in Montana yesterday afternoon, took a quick trip down to grab it and bring it across the border. Made it in one piece with no damage. However the crate that Josh built mysteriously disappeared. Maybe fed ex took out for a few flips.

Josh did an amazing job at assembling the ski. Everything is tied it nice and neatly. Any loose cables, hoses or wires are nicely secured. He also took the extra time to add small pieces of matching turf around the brap strap and on the handle to make it look clean and match. Can't thank him enough for mailing me out on this one.

Fired up the engine as soon as I got home. Will be needing that water box if I intend on staying friends with the neighbours at the lake. Hoping there won't be much or any for carb adjustment due to the elevation difference. The motor torques nice and hard.

The hull looks good. The paint shop could of paid more attention to detail. The red accents aren't lined up and kind of taper off to a wobbly point. There are a few protrusions in the hull where it was not properly sanded before paint. I have also noticed some stress cracks in the paint on the nose already. The engine bay look like it could of been prepped a little better. lots of small strands hanging that could of been sanded down .

Overall the ski looks really good. Nice and clean. Its loaded up in the trailer and ready to head to the lake for the next 4 days.

Thanks again to Josh, Brian and jet maniac for any last minute parts. I will post a ride report in the next few days after I get a few tanks of fuel through her.IMG_0442.jpgIMG_0444.jpg
