Yes! As set up right there in the picture, it's 4.5 inches shorter than the old setup.

So Matt, which length Xmetal pole is that (I understand they do different length adjustable poles now)? And is it all the way in or out there - or in between somewhere?
I'm torn on pole length on mine. It is definitely too long for flatwater now, but I think I would like it in the surf as-is. Been contemplating the adjustable xmetal to get the best of both worlds...

Yeah... Mines not "done" either. But I'm riding it regardless. Turf on the gunwales, footholds and dash is so overrated!!!
